Ron Paul trumped in last night’s Republican Presidential Candidate Debate in New Hampshire. His views on Iraq and freedom were shining beacons amidst the black smoke the other candidates emitted.
As the rest of the GOP hopefuls tighten their chains to the war wagon heading over a cliff, Paul’s views will propel him forward.
Every month that Paul remains in the race, he becomes more dangerous to the Establishment.
Ron Paul is the Buster Douglas candidate. Douglas was a 42 to 1 underdog when he fought undefeated Mike Tyson in 1990. The experts thought that the only question was whether Tyson would knock him out in the first, second, or third round.
But Douglas fought tough from the first round. In round ten, he caught Tyson with a flurry of punches that ended Iron Mike’s reign.
I posted higlights from Paul’s comments on my blog here.

Paul won the Maryland straw poll:

Voting for Dr. Paul will guarantee having 2 anti-war candidates. Of course Hilary isn’t really anti-war but it could make her shift to be a little anti-war if dr paul won. Democrats…we need your help!!!!!!!!
Hilary … to shift just a little bit more towards pretending to be anti-war? Just like “decider” did in 2000? ThatGuy, Democrats and Republicans deserve each other, but we, the American people, do not!
Hilary … anti-war? In her authorized biography she confirmed that it was her that ordered Bill to bomb Serbia in 1999! She is a proven warmonger and more than that.
Ron Paul is the only candidate with integrity, so far!
I am a anti-war Democrat and I will be switching my registration to vote for Dr. Paul and I recommend other likewise peple to do the same. He has the correct anti-war policy. These other republicans with their war, torture, and wire tapping scare the hell out of me.
All For Paul and Freedom
Mike-OKC
I have long been independent, and a constitutionalist–I will be registering as a Republican so I can vote for Ron Paul in the primaries.
I am a die hard Democrat and am considering voting for Ron Paul.
Hello Harnid
As an outside observer (I am Canadian) I am somewhat puzzled by your choice. Yo do have a democratic anti-war candidate in the person of Mike Gravel. Surprised that you would consider voting for Paul who has an extreme Barry Goldwater conservative domestic agenda - including getting rid of the department of education and opposing abortion rights. Why not vote for Gravel, get out of Iraq and still have a democrat domestic policyÉ
The answer is simple.
Gravel has at most 1% of the amount of support that Ron Paul currently has. Ron Paul is running in a very weaked Repulican field and actually has a chance to throw out an upset (as the title of this article suggests). or as many people like to say, “we are working throw a revolution within the Republican party, bring it back to where it is supposed to be.”
Also, on all those social issues. Ron Paul is anti-Federal government on those issues. All those issues can still be dealt with on the state/local level, where programs can be fine-tuned and designed to fit their state’s population.
Department of Education — eliminating this does not get rid of all public schools. It just means the schools are not controlled by the federal government.
Abortion rights — face it, the nation does not see eye to eye on this issue. Californians want pro-choice, but in many “red” states, the population believes that life begins at conception. So leaving this issue at the local level, lets people design the government they want.
bravo !
Fair enough. As I said, I’m an outside observer. Your domestic policy is your own business. But your foreign policy affects everybody else, so just make sure at least one anti-war candidate makes it to the ticket. No reason why any more American troops should be dying for the sake of a mendacious set of policies enacted by a guy who avoided military service himself.
None of the Democratic candidates are anti-war, either. They will simply continue the status quo. The only true anti-war candidate is Ron Paul. I switched from independent (first time ever) to Republican, to vote for him in the primaries.
As another outsider (Australian) I thought Dems Kucinich & Gravel AND also Paul are all anti-war (and maybe all are anti-”war on drugs”). But I do agree that Ron Paul has the best chance to win. Antiwar.com has made me consider political views that I never used to. So these days, I find myself torn between the extreme left and extreme right; is that strange? Has anyone else had the same experience as me?
Not really. It’s pretty simple. The democrats want to increase taxes so they can suck the juice out of the working people (taxes) and give to the lazy bastards in the form of food stamps, federal programs for education (that don’t really do anything - I worked in one of those and peole would show up to work 3 times a week for 3-5 hours if lucky and just do almost nothing of substance). They also want big centralized government - proof is time and time again those don’t work and are waste of tax money. Therefore, I would never vote Democrat unless a Democrat steps up and start talking about low taxes and less federal government. However, I haven’t seen one for a long time.
“These other republicans with their war, torture, and wire tapping scare the hell out of me.”
Wow. Well said. How did we let things get this out of hand?
I”m somewhat astonished by the way Ron Paul was treated. Even this morning, I read EVERY review of the debate and there was nary a word on his victory in not just this, but every debate so far!!!
He won the last two!!
This is so blatant…. so obvious. Don’t the networks understand that people love underdogs… and they don’t like to see this kind of conspiracy against an underdog?
I am NOT a Ron Paul operative… But I’m gonna be. I sent him money this morning because I was so mad.
I voted Reagan, Reagan, Perot Perot, Buchanan…. that’s my demographic.
And if the GOP thinks they are going to stifle debate on the neocon takeover they are sadly mistaken… I’ll vote OBama or Richardson before I’ll vote for those warmongers and torturers.
Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld should be tried for war crimes against 1 million dead IRaqis… convicted and shot between the eyes in a public square…
Bingo! - the war will be over.
Thanks James, and Welcome Karen. Ron Paul Operative, I like that. I believe I am referred to as a Ron Paul Sleeper Cell Organizer! LOL. I just thought I had to hunt the internet to find out more about Ron Paul after watching the second debate. I waited to hear more of him and found I was being starved by the lack of unslanted or biased reporting by most all media readily available. I also discovered I am not alone, not by a long-shot. I am sending him money too. A First for me. I am telling everyone I meet about him too. Another First for me. I will never waste my vote on another politician, or lawyer for that matter. From now on I am going for a Statesman, a real Patriot, and the only one in this race is Ron Paul. It’s about time.
Dr. Paul is the only chance of the Republican party’s resurrection after what the Neocons have done…
Ron Paul is the only HOPE for America.
I voted for Ron Paul in 1988 and I hope I get the chance to do so again in 2008. I am glad that he is going this far (calling this war a criminal invasion). I just wish that he would or could have the freedom to lay the blame of this criminal invasion where it really lies - at the feet of the bloody Israel-First lobby.
Well he did say: why are we protecting Israel? They have 200-300 nukes they can take care of themselves…or something along those lines
Yes! That was amazing when he said that. It’s funny how such common sense statements such as he makes, stand out and sound like a breath of fresh air. The lobby must be trying to dig up dirt on him as we speak…good luck to them!!
You are right on the money…we need to get the word out that it is Israel’s interests being served by this administration..not America’s.
Fortunately I live in Texas and don’t have to register Republican to vote Paul in the Tx. primary (still, the way Texas had their straw poll with only previous delegates allowed to vote I wouldn’t be surprised if this was changed on short notice.) I have wanted to vote for Paul for many years, and now I can. In fact, it just might be the last time I vote for anyone unless Paul wins the Repub nomination. I believe this is the crucial test to see if there is any honesty left in the election system…but I’m not holding my breath.
I prefer humility over grandstanding, right over wrong, Paul over Huckabee. May true patriots stand-up for what is right, which at times means admitting wrong and stepping aside. May God bless Ron Paul, America, and the world our power-play policies have damaged.
I will register as a Republican in Utah, so I can vote for Paul.
Don’t delay. If you’re serious about doing it, mark a time on your calendar and do it. Don’t wait until the day of the primary and go “ahhh crap, I forgot to register.” I suspect a lot of lazy people will do just that. Don’t procrastinate on this issue. This demands our immediate attention and we as a country are running short on excuses at this point.
Listening to the snickers from the other candidates as Ron suggested that he would begin undoing the vast web of bureaucratic sludge–DOE, Fatherland Securiity, etc.–provides a glimpse into the utter cynicism that mainstream politicians have for our freedoms.
Congress had the power and responsibility to coin money and regulate the value thereof. They did not have the authority to delegate that duty to any of their friends or unfederal preserve.
How clear is that?
Is this the evidence of the expected Antichrist system?
If your state is an open primary, you won’t have to switch parties to vote in the other party’s primary. Check your state laws to make sure.
I’m glad to see that enough people know truth when they hear it to change their party affiliation (which is just a surface and meaningless label anyway) to help the best man win.
The truth is, on the democrat side, with the exception of Kucinich and Gravel, the candidates, even Obama, are all establishment hacks with CFR credentials. Hillary and Edwards are Bilderberg Group attendees.
This is all stage-managed pageantry and really the parties are no different from each other. The so-called “fringe” candidates are the only ones worth even looking at! It’s high time the American people saw through the propaganda and reacted accordingly.
I’d recommend registering Republican no matter what state. If Dr. Paul’s campaign looks to be a big threat to the Establishment, I expect to see a lot of last minute changes to primary rules, only allowing Republicans to vote. Switch now, make sure you can vote in the primaries and get Ron Paul on the ballot in November 2008
The state of Montana GOP just changed its rules to move the selection process to February. The primaries will be held in June and, hence, mean absolutely nothing. I have not met a voter here yet who grasps this. Only GOP committee members will be allowed to vote for the nominee. Don’t only register, look into the process as well!
Nice to see/hear an American Politician WITHOUT the Penis of Israel in his/her mouth!!!
Even if your state has an open primary, still register Republican if you intend on voting for Ron Paul. Michigan is considering closing their Republican primary this election and expect many other states to follow suit.
There is nothing preventing the state GOP parties from changing who can vote in their primaries after the deadline to change parties, and I expect the GOP to play dirty to keep Ron out of the white house.
I too am a democrat who has already switched to register as a Republican so I can vote for Ron Paul.
This is a signal of Dr. Paul’s broad appeal, and shows that he has a better chance of beating the democrats than any other GOP candidate.
At last a shining light in all the total crap, deception, false smiles and true hatred for our country and the middle class. Ron Paul has my money and my undying support. We finally have a real choice with a clear Vision. not just a vote for the lesser of two evils. Please tell everyone you know. Let’s have a real leader with the balls to take the Constitution seriously. Pawn Hannity should be ashamed of himself, period.
These Posts are amazing - I was Pro - Bush & Pro-War 1 1/2 months ago. Now…the bliders are off and I’m heavily involved in the RP campiagn….check out my website
marchacrossamerica.blogspot.com 30 states 1000+ marchers for peace and RP….Next national event Oct. 13th!
Hence the reason they must move the primary dates forward to minimize the time Ron Paul has to rally the GOP.
to all the democrats/independents registering as republicans to vote for ron paul: good for you! that shows just how principled you are. i still hear the occasional democrat say “he’s still a republican!” that’s absured. the partisan politics has got to go. this is not about a political party, it’s about peace, liberty, freedom, and prosperity.
Dr. Paul needs more than just your vote. The campaign needs your support, your enthusiasm, energy, ideas and participation. Join your local Ron Paul Meetup Group and make a real difference.

I think it is funny that Fox news tries to discredit Ron Paul’s lead. As the only antiwar candidate it is obvious why he is winning strawpolls, debates and other polls. They laugh because they are scared. I think America is ready to support someone who stands on the principles this country was built on. Fox should be ashamed of their slanted views. Ron Paul is catching on because America is catching on.
“If Tyranny and Oppression Come to this Land, it Will be in the Guise of Fighting a Foreign Enemy” –James Madison
Last night was a watershed moment in this campaign. Never has it been clearer which candidate will uphold the oath to protect and defend the US Constitution. I implore everyone to sign up with a Ron Paul Meetup in your area and start donating some time on this campaign if you can’t donate any money. We have to seize this moment in history.
how dare he (paul) mention israel has ‘the bomb’ !
I am a Democrat and re-registered as a Republican to vote for Paul. He is one of very few politicians to talk about real issues. I don’t agree with him on everything, but I do in several crucial areas, foremost that he is a champion of our civil liberties. It’s really funny that the Republican party is so opposed to him… he’s getting a lot of people from the supposed “other side” to join and pay attention to them. He’s their only chance.
He has a strong knowledge of history, fiscal responsibility, and firmly grounded economic principles. I’ve never been this excited about a candidate in my life. This debate only further cements him as a champion of the individual. Don’t be fooled by the spin… he has real support and great solutions to many of our problems. And if he gets deadlocked in office, small steps in the right direction are much preferrable to large steps in the wrong direction. I’ll be donating to him up until the election. This last debate only further cements him as the lone voice of reason in a sea of empty image.
Oh my gosh, maybe Paul is in a position to wake up the slumbering U.S. masses, and save us. Win, Paul, win!
Ron Pauls a okay in my books! F&&& the rest of them
True Patriots will put Country over Party. As Congressman Paul puts it, “Groups do not have rights, Individuals have rights”. During last night’s debate, I was a little disappointed that Ron Paul did not have an opportunity to add in his rebuttal to Huckabee, that those who feel a moral obligation to re-build Iraq would certainly be better able to do that if we were not engaged in an illegal, unjust and un-ending War. The Iraqis have resources. They have out-of-work Architects, Engineers and Builders, and why is it that the Iraqi people are not even the ones allowed to work rebuilding their own country now? Our Government is paying big bucks to American and other foreign corporations like Halliburton and others to rebuild Iraq to their liking. The Bush administration continues to disenfranchise the Iraqi people and undermine their ability to function. There are also so many charitable and humanitarian orgs that would step right up to help them build their homes, schools, provide medical care and help, if they were not stopped, and rebuilding is difficult when you are dodging bullets. It should not be a military mission, it should not have been one at all.
Hopefully it is not to late with the help of Ron Paul as president to turn the tables around and stop the descent of America into the abyss of central planning.
The debate last night and the fireworks by Ron Paul were awesome! I changed my party registration to Republican a couple months ago when I learned of Dr. Paul. He is the only candidate running worth supporting because he is pro liberty, freedom, the Constitution, and against unjust war. The rest are clones of each other for the most part.
I will be 86 at the next election and I have never voted a
Republican ticket - this time I will. My vote will go to Ron
Paul who is the only political leader among those other
blatant phonies.
Congressman Paul truly is the anti-war candidate, unlike many of the democrats who say one thing, but vote another. And to top it all off, he supports the Constitution as well! The guy is almost too good to be true, I hope he does well.
If your a democrat you should vote for Ron Paul in the primary so we have 2 anti-war candidates running in the general election. You can vote for whoever in the mail election but in the primary vote for Ron Paul
I am an independent who voted Kerry in ‘04 and worked hard to elect Dems in ‘06 in the hope they would end this insane war, the insane Bush Doctrine, impeach Cheney, provide oversight, prevent a new war on Iran, restore Habeus Corpus, etc. You see how well that has worked out. While I don’t agree with the Libertarian economic theory, I am supporting Paul with $$ and will change my registration so I can vote for him in Florida’s primary. I was hoping Hegal would run, but it looks like that isn’t happening. I will vote for anyone from any party that will steer this country away from the cliff it is tottering over right now. Dr. Paul is certainly the only sane Repub running and it is our duty to nominate candidates in both parties who are willing to speak the truth and approach our problems from the standpoint of reality (doesn’t seem like much to ask, does it? Yet look around at these other Bozos running and the delusional fantasy world they inhabit).
I feel that the War Party will do anything, up to and including gnawing their own limbs off before they let a Paul or Kucinich become the nominee. We may have gone too far down the fascist road, and the powers that be may be too entrenched for us common folks to make a difference anymore, but we must at least give it our best shot at taking the country back from these vile, craven, mendacious, fear- and war-mongering traitors before they ruin the country for good, and much of the rest of the world, besides.
Ron Paul is a sexy man. No matter how popular he is, he will not win. I hate to sound so negative, but this country is lost and no way our system will give him a chance. More war is on the horizon.
The earlier posters are right. If you want the war to end, you must vote for Ron Paul in the primary no matter what party you are with. That is the only way to be assured of getting a non-war ballot. Otherwise, the Republicans will fix the election again and you will be stuck with a pro-war, pre-emptive nuclear striking thug who may get us all killed.
Besides, if Ron Paul doesn’t win, that is one more Republican who deserts the party to vote for a Democrat. Yummy.
Those of you who “were” democrats and are now voting for Ron Paul, make me proud to be an American! Let us not be divided by war but united by Freedom and Peace. Forget Huckabee’s “Honor” What honor is there letting men and women die because of a poor president and GREED!
As the other posters hinted at, the party apparatus is not shy about changing election rules to suit their favored candidates. Be very wary and keep a keen eye out for any changes that will change the way that candidates are chosen in your local elections. I’ve seen it happen even in the local school board elections……
My friends, we could be witnessing the greatest revolution since the founding of this nation. The pro-war candidates are diluting their votes and financing between them. With their big paid staffs & costly means of collecting donations many of them will go broke by election time, while Ron Paul continues to pick up momentum and surges on.
Many Americans of all views are sick of the AIPAC occupation and want to be liberated. Now they have an outlet. Ron Paul should also mention that since no pro-war candidate will have a chance to win the election, he is the only viable Republican candidate that can win the general election.
I have donated $200 + purchased shirts & buttons and now have added $500 to attend a fund raising event. That’s more than I have given for all previous elections put together. We need to work hard to turn everyone possible on to the campaign and keep contributing no matter how much it hurts.
God bless you all for restoring my hope and faith in the American people.
