Glenn Greenwald was previously a constitutional law and civil rights litigator in New York. He is the author of the New York Times bestselling book How Would a Patriot Act?, a critique of the Bush administration’s use of executive power, released in May 2006. His brand new book is A Tragic Legacy.

  1. GG mentioned the L word, STATO, and he-who-must-not-be-named. I hope the peeps at Salon don’t start calling him a heartless Libertarian bigot who hates everyone who is different, especially poor people!!!!!

re: Ron Paul, GG has been more than fair in the blog posts he has done, but a lot of the righteous True Believers that haunt the letters section of UT on Salon like to paint Paul as a bigot. I’ve seen them make up some ridiculous accusations about him.

I was wondering, since according to wikipedia Glenn Greenwald is openly gay, does he feel threatened by a Ron Paul presidency?

  2. That sound you hear from the other side of the word is a nation waking up. After 11 looooooong years of John Howard’s hypnotist act Australians have finally wised up and thrown the bums out.

Iraq barely rated a mention in the campaign which was mostly fought over Howard’s extremist right-wing labour laws. But it was a factor bubbling along in the background. I think it might have served as an alarm bell for a lot of people who started paying attention to what else this criminal gang was up to.

So come on America! We’ve thrown out the monkey…now it’s your turn to give the organ grinder the boot!
