A quick addendum: current military spending amounts to approximately 3.7% of GDP. Thus a jump to the level Romney is calling for would increase spending by about 10% -- no small chunk of change. In addition, combined budgets for the dozen or so intelligence agencies pre-9/11 was over $20 billion. This employed thousands of analysts and field agents, who as I mentioned above, were actively investigating potential terrorist threats prior to the hijackings. As of 2007 the US intelligence budget is roughly $43.5 billion and employs an estimated 100,000 workers at various capacities.

Wait I know, Peres and Romney both like Boy Scouts? That can be construed however one may care to. There still to this day, linger all those rumors from Romney’s days at the helm of the S.L. Olympics. Know the ’snitster’ personally I do. What a vulgar and crass little piss-ant. He’s a bully-boy and one could ask the secretaries that worked the Olympics office for any necessary verification. They DO have some stories to retell.

i’m deeply happy to read such words on this, a conservative website. exactly why territorial expansion should have been tied to the idea of patriotism, much less conservatism (of any stripe), has always baffled me. it’s good to know one is not alone in understanding conservatism as, at root, anti-imperialistic.

Successful businessmen rarely make intelligent, conservative politicians, and Romney is a prime example. Somehow making money must be intellectually easier than making sense.

As a candidate who promised to trash the Constitution, expand Gitmo, make war across the earth, expand the executive’s branch beyond its already Hindenburg proportions, and pump up the military even more, Gott Mitt Romney will not be missed by liberty lovers or by red state fascists, the latter still having McCain to swoon over.

There just wasn’t enough room in America for two militaristic goons.
