  1. Suspending the campaign is not the problem. Saying he would not run as an independent and is wed to the Republican Party is the fatal flaw.

  2. I, too, will be writing him in, Mr. Smith. None of the others are worth a hill of beans.

  3. Go Ron Paul. He IS the best by far. Who knows how things will go but I’m hoping for the best. Both at the convention and with his primary challange. If he does loose the challange lets hope he runs third party. I’ll be writting him in either way.

  4. Ron Paul saw how Pat Buchanan got sandbagged in 2000. Ross Perot invited Pat to run as the Reform Party Candidate, then someone (Perot?) made sure Pat had to fight for the nomination every inch of the way. Pat placed at 37% in a 1996 TIME poll as a potential Republican candidate. After he left the party to run Reform, he never polled higher than 5%, and ended up with 2 1/2% of the vote.
There’s nothing to stop a 3rd party draft of Ron Paul. In fact, he could be run as the candidate of several third parties, assuring him a ballot position in all 50 states. Besides, McCain’s latest troubles may mean a brokered GOP convention, so Paul wants to keep his ties to the GOP as long as possible.

I’ve formulated a plan to enable Ron Paul to bypass the mainstream media and get out his message using virtually no money (even though he’s already run up over $6M in donations this quarter). Don’t count Ron Paul out yet.

    1. I’m intrigued by your ideas and would like to subscribe to your newsletter. Seriously, what can you bring to the campaign that millions of grassroots supporters haven’t already tried?

  5. "I recieved much more than I paid for."

Why of course you did, Brad, and it was all so wonderfully spiritual. I know, I know, it just made you feel so very good inside. I'll bet you're about to burst with wholesomeness right now, watching all of those dry bones come to life. To what are we to compare this experience, Ezekial 37? More to the effects of an oversized bran muffin, I'd venture.

  6. Whether he runs as a third party candidate or not, whether he stays in the race until the convention or not, whether he remains in Congress or not, he will always be my hero.

I will also write him in.

    1. Pray tell, paulite, with such evident devotion will there still be room left in your heart for Mom, or, perhaps, God?

      1. Well “God” will have to take a number since Buddha and Zoroaster already got in line and the heart has no vacancies open.

Seriously God is not going to make Ron Paul win, it will take actual actions not prayers to win.(and the Political Elite in the US are working against him)

  7. Please Dr. Paul, don’t leave us with the likes of the McCainiac, Hill ‘the shill’, or the Bare-ax! America needs you now, more then ever.

    1. Oh, my God, what toadyish drivel! The man is a politician, for goodness sake, not a saint. He’ll be holding on to a pretty fat wallet while you and I will be going through the tortures of the damned enduring the economic calamity he’s unwilling to offer himself as an independent candidate to change. Saints don’t collect and then waste $20,000,000 of their supporters money only to walk away spueing airy concepts while they tend to their own linen.

      1. I have said this to you before John and I’ll say it again. I did not waste one cent of my money. I recieved much more than I paid for. Each and every time he speaks the truth one more person wakes up. Why don’t you? Stop slandering the only decent candidate in the race it just makes you look foolish.

        1. John, what exactly is your problem? Are you just ignorant, or a total A$$? You are constantly spouting this garbage. Face it Ron Paul has woken people up. Not enough yet obviously but more than anyone else. Do you really beleive anything will change untill people hear the truth?

    1. Excuse me, but why write someone in that refuses to make an effort to offer himself as an independent candidate? If he isn’t willing to undertake that kind effort why should you do something more? Do you think he’d write your name in? I say it’s time to turn St. Paul’s picture to the wall.

      1. John Lowell go home. We support Ron Paul because he is the best man for the job by far. You can waste your vote for someone else or not bother, who cares? But why do you care so much what we do? This is about the tenth time I have seen you on here slamming Ron Paul. As if somehow you are better than him or his supporters. I say it’s time to turn your face to the mirror and take a good hard look. You might learn something.

  8. Since 1964, I’ve run 5 times for elected office, twice for the state legislature, twice for congress and once once for the federal senate. I ran on the conservative party, libertarian and Consitution Party. I know what Ron Paul is going thru.
It has taken over 100 years to bring America to the brink of disaster. Those who are familiar, know the 9 steps…Tyler’s, Decline and fall of of the Athenian Empire. We’re at step 8.

Ron Paul is truly one in 300,000,000, sad to say.

Ask yourself, “am I ready to the challenge”. I’ll put the time, and resources to get rid of the blight that is destroying my country?. The Stalin’s, Hitler’s, Roosvelt’s, Bush’s, et al., they see their goals as opportunities, not problems. They don’t run away. Did you know that Germany had the highest per capita of church goers of any the western nation’s while Hitler was striving to achieve his goals.

Osama bin Laden saw the World Trade Tower’s as the “horns of Satan”. They represent our god, money. Destroy the dollar and you destroy America. He’s a billionaire. He doesn’t do what he does for money.

By the grace of God, I suffered a stroke. I’m recovering but have limitations. Look at my websites, wildeysview.com and wildeygun.com. If you bring up wildeysview, go to “Reasoning”. You might find interesting.

    On the Journey

  9. I also think Ron Paul should run as an independent. That way we can vote for him in general elections.

  10. At least Ron Paul seems to be a genuine and sincere person. He does not seem to be a phoney bolony pandering politician like Obama or Hillary. I might not agree with him on everthing but he sure does stand up for what he believes in. And at least he knows we need to secure our borders and stop this utter invasion of millions of illegal immigrants. At least he is not pandering for the Latino vote like Obama and Hillary.

  11. Doctor Paul has been asked a zillion times if he will run as an independent or for a third party. Every time, the answer has been a big NO. How many times does Doctor Paul have to say no before people get the message?

  12. Is there really any need to contribute another word? Ron Paul is an American who has the courage to champion the American Constitution that is implicit in representing Americans as the law of the land!

And if he runs a Third Party, then there is Cynthia McKinney, a Black American woman who has the same guts in tempered blue steel to serve as his running mate, a Vice President, until she too is accorded the opportunity to run the White house! God bless us for both of them! -Al Koppel.

  13. You know, the Bison or Buffalo is native to America. When Buffalo hunters wanted to stampede the large herds, someone would go to the side of the dumb beast and fire a shot. This caused them to run from the shooter. If he planned it right, there would be cliff where he wanted them go. They blindly followed the one in front and jump to their death. They didn’t know where they were going or why but they charged on.

Sometimes I feel “politicians”(many blood sucking insects), see us like Buffalos. They fire a shot and we head to lands we couldn’t find on a map and kill and be killed. They promise us Utopia which is nothing but the Utopia that is yesterday’s ash heaps.

Do you want to no why Ron Paul is polling 6%. Maybe only 6% can accept TRUTH Man. Neither the Insect(politician) or the herd (Buffalo)want it. We’re gonna beat the odds. So what! nobody ever did it before. That Buffalo running ahead of me, He’s safe.

This is, as chinamen said “may you live in interest times”. I may be wrong, but Bush is not going away.

  14. In a move that can only make Ron Paul appear just that much more irremediably weak and ineffectual, the New York Times reports today that Ralph Nader plans to appear on one of the network news shows tomorrow and might announce an independent bid for president. I’d guess that that would be almost certain, given the circumstances. Having spat in the face of the right-wing anti-war, anti-system crowd, Paul, rather than offering a way toward unity with them, now enables a greater cohesiveness of those on the anti-war, anti-system left. Has it been this man’s sole purpose over the last year to embody the processes involved in one’s evolution from schlub to schlamazel? At this juncture, you can almost hear the air coming out of the “revolution”.

  15. Based on what a “statement”?

When we start seeing some ACTUAL campaigning (outside of Texas… you know like in the states that are having primaries) and some REAL advertising (and not that “He’s catching on!” crapola)…

Oh, and when he FIRES Snyder & Moore and hires someone competent.

Then maybe I’ll believe there is even a remote possibility.

Otherwise it’s just blowing more smoke up people’s backsides… making sure he has sufficient donations to keep his day job; and sufficient suckers to buy his latest book (hey gotta have something to retire on, right?).

  16. And this from the Houston Chronicle:

“AUSTIN (AP) — Acknowledging his imminent failure, maverick Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul said Saturday that he won’t get back into the race for the White House as an independent candidate once a GOP nominee is solidified.

“’I have no plans to do that,’ Paul told a small group of reporters before a rally. ‘I would suspect that if we don’t win, if the trends continue we’re not likely to win, that I will run for Congress.'”

And who were those here holding out hope that Paul felt he could still win the Republican nomination or that he still might launch an independent bid when he announced his stand-down about a week ago? Anyone remember the names?

For all the talk of Paul’s integrity, someone apparently forgot to inquire whether he meant “principle” or “principal” when he used the word. At this point his preferred meaning ought to be crystal clear to anyone but those for whom a guardianship of some kind would be suitable. And, please, spare me any further talk about Ron Paul’s character, his “revolution”, or his movement. I just hope his opponent in the primary – or in the general if he survives – makes minced meat out of him.

    1. Well it obviously seems you are doing your best to discredit him. You and Media, and don’t tell me they are not. The article’s wording proves it!

  17. Ron Paul was never out, so how can he be back?

You can’t run a credible presidential campaign if you lose your congressional seat. With a million in the bank for that race, he can afford to campaign Texas-wide. Actually, he’s been doing just that non-stop (just in case anyone hasn’t been paying attention).

The GOP insiders hate McCain here in Texas, and if we pull just a *little* we can get some massive support and all 140 delegates here.

Please consider helping us. We have a plan for success here in Texas:

  18. John Lowell, the Houston Chronicle has been anti-Paul for the past 30 years. Ron ought to sue their ass. I’m 100% serious here.

    1. I’m simply quoting an article of theirs quoting Paul, Ball. It’s all factual enough whether or not they’ve been gunning for him.

  19. Well it seems odd to me that one could be “back” when one was never really “out” to begin with. I seriously think it is time to revive the “Bull Moose” Party of 1912 because I am sick of McMussolini(Lil’ Duce), Hitlery, Obomber, and Hugabible. The Political Elite will never allow him to win. I don’t think Diebold allows “write-ins”. So the only real possibility is to bring back the spirit of Teddy Roosevelt, funny thing how his platform in 1912 almost seems a reflection of today.
“To destroy this invisible Government, to dissolve the unholy alliance between corrupt business and corrupt politics is the first task of the statesmanship of the day.”
I know, he was no saint, but I think many people see him as a positive historical figure and using him and his platform would gain support.
