The AC-130 is an aircraft not a missile. It is like a bomber, but it uses Cannons/guns instead of bombs and missiles to direct cannon fire against targets on the ground from high altitudes. It is cheaper than using Tomahawks and JDAM/Paveway/JSOW bombs to vaporize villagers. Now if the Somalis were to get some decent Manpads(Portable Surface to Air missiles) from Eritrea or Egypt it would likely level out the playing field a bit.

You know the double standards are just too obvious. The US accuses the Sudanese government of using aircraft in attacking Darfur villages, yet the US has no problem with using aircraft to attack villages across the planet.

Actually the boys at Natick(where the US Army researches future and current gear) are cooking up something that they call "new" Police Uniforms which look like something resembling Waffen SS uniforms with black and white stripes and combat helmets. These are meant to be deployed in situations such as New Orleans during Hurrican Katrina. The transformation of the US into a full Police State is only years away.

Aha.

"We will continue to defend this nation and it(s) people for(from??) all threats and all evil."

And what do you call blowing up women and children with Guided Missiles? In my book that is called an "evil act", just like the bombing of Guernica was evil when the Nazis did it, painting a US Air Force or US Navy symbol on those missiles, bombs, and bombers does not "automatically" make evil acts "acceptable". Evil acts are evil acts, US troops are not exempt from the ethical standards that others must follow or else be called "evil". They apply to everyone.

They would be feasting I presume after bombarding a tiny forrested village close to the border of Kenya with AC-130 missiles. Little do they know that their missiles have successfully managed to wipe out a herd of cattle and some pastoralists in the village. And no sign of 'Al-Qaeda' operatives...

War crimes? Crimes against humanity?
Oh are you refering to them being our seas to keep the terrorism out of the US?
Im sure they wouldnt mind, they are already over their doing the jobs that men like yourself dont have the balls to.
So you just sit there on your coward hind end and hide behind your computer while the real men go to the front lines and sit at home typing out your pityful little whines.
My opinion is that anyone posting negative comments toward their own country and military be charged with treason!

Well we thank you Tim... me , my father and im sure his father before him and now i thank you for my son who is presently serving his 3rd tour overseas for all of your support. He is the 4th generation soldier in this family and no we dont do it for the glory or the praise... We do it for the love of our great nation and the pride we hold for it! I am well aware of all the ignorance in this world, as is my son. But as he always says, " I dont fight the enemy in front of me...I fight for the people who stand behind me". And i think those words are by far priceless.
And you are right... Freedom is NOT free! It was bought and paid for by the blood sweat and tears of our fallen brothers and sisters.
Again thank you for your comment sir and the support of our troops!
