[...] Jim Lobe has a humorous post on the Lally Weymouth’s interview with Jordan’s King Abdullah for the Washington post. In the interview, Lally continues to push King Abdullah to consider Iran a threat. When King Abdullah will not concede, Lally obstinately continues to go back to her fixation on Iran: I don’t follow the politics of the Washington Post’s Graham family, but Lally Weymouth (daughter of Philip and Katherine, mother of Katharine Weymouth, the newspaper’s current publisher) specializes in touring the globe, performing exclusive interviews with consequential world leaders, publishing them in Newsweek, for which she is a senior editor, and the Post, and thus helping to define conventional wisdom in Washington. Almost as much as her brother Donald, so far as I understand, she has contributed to the steady rightward drift of the Post’s editorial line over the past two decades, a drift that, in my view, made the paper one of the most influential, if often overlooked, “enablers” of Bush’s first-term neo-conservative foreign-policy trajectory in Washington.
Guys, guys, guys!!
Stop getting sarky with each other!
This is ridiculous. U're here to give ur comments, not hand out sarcasm on a plate.
I live in Iran, too. I work at a news agency, so I'm dealing with what officials and politicians all over the world say every day on a daily basis. I don't want to see my country attacked either. But making fun of Americans or getting into a verbal war with them won't change a thing. WE HAVE NOTHING AGAINST U, but it seems our governments can't just leave each other well enough alone! And I'm sick of it! I have a brother who's doing his military services (It's mundatory in Iran) and I don't want him to get into a damn stupid war (because that'll happen if ever there is a war) and I'm sure my fiance would be dragged in as well, not to mention how many people will be victims of such stupidity. No, I can't use eloquent pretty-sounding words, but from a purely selfish outlook I'd like u to leave us be. I DON'T WANT TO BE MY MOTHER talking about an American attack the way she talks about THE Iraqi attack.

when you have the American-israeli-EU in control of the so called "MIDEAST PEACE" bulls**t, they keep using it to give israel more time to take over the middle east , as they (American and EU) suck the oil and blood of that region , they are using the peace plan to bring the dumb arab leaders on their side to wage war on Iran.
THEY CAN TAKE THEIR PEACE FARCE AND SHOVE IT WERE THE SUN DON'T SHINE (as they have done before).
ALL I HAVE TO SAY: IRAN PLEASE MAKE THE BOMB, MAKE SURE YOU MAKE AS MANY BOMB'S AS THEY HAVE, STAY STRONG AND BE READY TO FIGHT THE SAVAGE ARMYS OF DEATH, JUST LOOK AT WHAT THEY HAVE DONE IN PALESTIAN, LEBANON AND LOOK AT WHAT THE SAVAGE KILLERS HAVE DONE TO IRAQ, THE SAVAGE'S ARE AT YOUR DOOR, AND WHEN THEY COME FOR YOU FIGHT THEM WITH ALL YOU HAVE.

Doesn't Weymouth also answer the question of why the MSM seems so sanguine about Bush's Mideast Redevelopment Project? Namely: Media ownership favors regime change for all Israel's enemies. The Washington Post isn't exactly a minor player in the American information industry. And when we think of other media giants - from the New York Times to Viacom - we perceive a religious/ethnic dimension to those propagating the Mideast Imperium. How long are we going to continue denying this? How long are we going to be intimidated into silence by phony charges of anti-Semitism?

The Americans want to attack Iran and have no desire for Mideast “peace” (i.e. ending the ongoing colonial projects), so is it any surprise they aren’t interested in listening to anyone who advocates the latter instead of the former? I’ll assume every discussion on this topic, in and around the American government, follows the same pattern.
