convictions, not health care, not financial regulatory reform, not Iraq or Afghanistan, but — assholes.
She is going to have a willing ally in her supposed keen enemy, the mainstream media, which likewise loves nothing more than a political narrative that has nothing to do with politics. It’ll be a virtually endless war over nonsense like this.
As brainless political theater, she can’t be topped. Like George W. Bush, even Palin herself doesn’t know this, another reason she’s such a perfect political tool.
Hilariously she thinks living near Canada counts as foreign policy experience.

She has staked out, as her own personal political turf, the entire landscape of incoherent white American resentment. In this area she leaves even Rush Limbaugh in the dust. She is building a political career around the little interpersonal wars in the immediate airspace surrounding her sawdust-filled head.

There will be no war with Russia, they are the natural friend. US has no ideological or other reasons. Middle east and eventually China can be a problem.

Probably current threat to this country is from Israeli economic intelligence, as they try to move unsuccessfully from war oriented economy to a more productive one.

She’s a long-time fundamentalist, so, yes, the likelihood is that she’s been hot and bothered about Israel for most of her life. For her own purposes, of course: Israel has a role in the future history the Armeggedonites have dreamed up. (Read up in Hal Lindsey’s books or the Left Behind series for the details of the future.) If the real Israelis don’t go along with what the fundies think they should do, so much the worse for them.

As for Palestinians, they are like American Indians, and exist only to get out of the way, make way for Israel, and the End of Days.
