The rest of you seem unable to accept that lots and lots of people (in America, anyway) deeply believe in a personal God, and that America is the country that listens closest to, and best pleases, Him. You want to believe Sarah Palin’s just putting words in the mouth of straw God. Because nobody who disagrees with you could be sincere? Because it’s more important to keep screaming “Christians are loonies!” than to hew to the truth? Or because political life in America has degenerated into a game of trying to crap on your opponents’ heads where nothing else counts?

Anybody who’s spent much time with believers can see Palin really _is_ telling people to pray. She believes God will take as big a role in running America as we give Him. To me, that’s an enormous stretch, putting it very mildly. But Palin and folks like her are our neighbors and fellow-countrymen, and as you might have noticed in the last few elections, they vote their beliefs.

I would love to be able to make them think like me. (God, if any, is unknowable. You become what you have done, and most surely will not be redeemed for what you merely believe. When you die, you’re dead forever. Killing people because you think they might be up to something bad is terribly wrong. If you want to know how the world works and where it came from, look at the world, not old books. And so on.) I believe this is a much better way of looking at the world than the Christian way, for me and for all the people I’m not blowing up.

But I can’t change what Christians believe, and it looks like I’m going to have to continue sharing the world with hundreds of millions of them. Ridiculing them isn’t going to make anything better. Deliberately distorting what they say or believe, as that A.P. report and so many of you here have done, seems more likely to get them all out to vote for McCain than anything else.

NEWS FLASH! Computers these days come with spelling checkers and dictionaries. Writing like an illiterate doesn’t add zing to your post.

Imagine if there were cameras filming in Obama’s or Biden’s or McCain’s sacred and private areas of his life that would make no sense outside of the context of where he is. It wouldn’t be appropriate. So it’s time to stop complaining about anyone who says the word God in public and learn how to TOLERATE people that are different than you.

Try to overcome your misconceptions due to misinformation based on international politics and the wrong doings of some muslims and open up your mind and heart to Islam, learn Islam from Islam, not from biased mass media or luciferians pretending to be muslims or misguided muslims.

Learn that Jesus (peace be upon him) was practicing Islam and he foretold the comming of Mohammed (peace be upon him), learn that in Islam Mary the mother of Jesus (pbuh) is the most revered woman in all human history, and Jesus (pbuh) is expected by muslims to return as the Messiah to fight the anti-christ/dajjal, and all sincere muslims will be joining Jesus (pbuh) in his kingdom on earth.

Learn what you have been lied to about and were made to ignore for so long, learn the truth.
