There is absolutely no ideology directing the actions of Taliban, and those who try to inject some kind of one, into the rank and file of Taliban, i.e. Saudi Arabia directly and America indirectly, are just grinding water. Taliban has moved beyond ideology. War has become the main, and practically the only source of income for Pakistan and its Taliban, and as long as there is not the will to recognize this fact internationally and act accordingly Taliban will grow, and grow and grow, just like those jello creatures in the 50's Hollywood B movies. Dollars and cents AREN'T the motive force for everything, and some things really are, credit card jokes aside, priceless. The notion that enemy forces are just 'making a living' $75 at a time, the same way US service personnel are 'serving' their country, is disproven by the fact that some - like the North Vietnamese - won't take a bribe and others may take your money and continue to not be your friend.
