Dying for Crooks: US Troops in Afghanistan

Transparency International reported yesterday that Afghanistan is the most corrupt nation in the world – except for Somalia.

Heckua achievement, if the only nation on earth that is more shady is one that is full of pirates… Karzai is making Marion Barry look like Mother Teresa.

The Washington Post reported today that one of Afghanistan’s top ministers took a $30 million bribe to give a special deal to a Chinese mining company.

The New York Times reported: “Everything seems to be for sale: public offices, access to government services, even a person’s freedom.”

So what do Army recruiters say these days? Why in Hades would any American agree to risk his neck to prop up this band of thieves?

Occupiers involved in drug trade: Afghan minister
General Khodaidad Khodaidad said the majority of drugs are stockpiled in two provinces controlled by troops from the US, the UK, and Canada, IRNA reported on Saturday.

He went on to say that NATO forces are taxing the production of opium in the regions under their control.

Meanwhile, The New York Times reported on Wednesday that Ahmad Wali Karzai, a brother of the Afghan president, is involved in the opium trade, meets with Taliban leaders, and is also a CIA operative.

Russia, Plagued by Heroin Use, to Press U.S. on Destroying Afghan Poppy Crops
After a visit to Afghanistan in July, the Obama administration抯 special envoy for the region, Richard C. Holbrooke, said poppy eradication had alienated poor farmers and was 揹riving people into the hands of the Taliban.?

The authorities here estimate that 30,000 young Russians die every year from drug use. Mr. Ivanov said that 90 percent of Russian addicts used Afghan heroin, which flows into the country freely over the 搗irtual borders?it shares with central Asian neighbors.

"The cultivation of opium in Afghanistan reached its peak in 1999, when 225,000 acres-350 square miles梠f poppies were sown. The following year the Taliban banned poppy cultivation, a move which cut production by 94 percent. By 2001 only 30 square miles of land were in use for growing opium poppies. A year later, after American and British troops had removed the Taliban and installed the interim government, the land under cultivation leapt back to 285 square miles, with Afghanistan supplanting Burma to become the world's largest opium producer once more.

  4. AS if the US were not as corrupt on a grand scale!

    Bail-outs,congress,militry contracts.

US Troops are not dying for any Afghani, they are dying for US nighmare of empire!

  5. Our troops have been dying and killing for crooks for years. Karzi, the present Iraqi leadership, the present and past Israeli leadership, the Korean and Vietnamese leadership. The biggest crooks of all are our American politicians and the military industrial complex.

  6. I have known this for years. What really irritates me though is that most Americans still don't know this. I just can't understand it. I have waited for years for slow fellow AMericans to catch up and figure it out, but it seems it will never happen.

On the other hand we have US polticians. THey know but keep on funding Israel. If I was president , the first thing I would do is cut off Israel and tell them if they tried to blackmail me, or pull off another false flag, I would drop an H Bomb on them. WIpe em out completely. Seems that is the only thing they understand.

I'm highly inclined to believe that deep down, most Amoricons DO know that it's all a gigantic fraud and a scam. The problem is that in order to come to terms with this fact, they would have to admit to themselves that everything they've been taught about their country, everything they THINK they know about how their government works, is an illusion and a complete LIE. The realization of having been duped so thoroughly and for so long is just too harsh of a reality for most to face up to and has resulted in a denial so deep as to be impenetrable. Only when their civilization collapses and the truth becomes unavoidable will the majority come to terms with it, by which point it will of course be too late.

  7. The injustices article makes me sick- I know a few Afghanistans and they are some of the most lovely people I have met. Also, I found a really good site about the Afghanistan War that a New Zealand who visited Afghanistan and saw some parts of the war first hand:
    http://eliminatewarforever.org./stop-war/stop-exi
I think it could be worth a look.

  8. US troops have been dying for crooks for a long time. Thieu, Ky? Reagan, Nixon, Clinton, Bushes, Obama?

  9. This outcry over so called the currpt government of Afghanistan is nothing but a smoke screen.Where was the outcry when the US brought in and installed Karzai as its stooge over Afghnistan?

They US always choose currpt people to serve its agenda. But when they can’t deliver out comes all the chargesof currption, dictatorship etc!

When the US could not buy the Talibans ,they had to go.

  10. As a biker and a libertarian (you know the type), I have to say Afghanis frickin' rule*! Did you happen to see the photo of three guys on a motorcycle with an AK and RPG, riding around without helmets (ha!) smoking hash all day and smoking the UN invaders all night. And for relaxation between firefights playing polo with goat heads to stay sharp. "Go America Go", indeed. My new bumper sticker.

*Except for the Allah and young-boy enthusiasms, but who am I to judge. They should switch to beer, imho, except for it's potential effect on dawn operations. Red Bull and Copenhagen, then, just like our guys!

  11. American troops are also dying for the crooks in the U.S. – Corporate sponsors of America's wars as detailed in the book: "War is a Racket" written by Marine Smedley Butler who was twice awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor!

    1. Sir, you are 100% correct. Too bad the American people havn't reached the same conclusion. But they will, when the crooked corporate ruling establishment finally bankrupts us all. At the rate things are going, that should take about a year, two at the most.

  12. It is very intersting that the same media that now supposdly exposing the rampent currtion in Afghanistan did not find it important to expose the huge no-bid contracts worth billions that were handed over to Haliborten of Dick Cheney!

  13. A group of 9 scientists, one of them Niels Harrit from Uni of Copenhagen, have examined some of the dust from WTC for almost two years and concluded that it wasn´t the two planes which took down the three towers but nano-thermite. They calculate that 10-100 tons of nano-thermite was placed in the buildings. Niels Harrit was interviewed on Danish TV 2 News. And the 9 scientists made a research paper on their findings.

  14. A Soldier’s Declaration
    By SIEGFRIED SASSOON

I am making this statement as an act of willful defiance of military authority, because I believe that the war is being deliberately prolonged by those who have the power to end it.

I am a soldier, convinced that I am acting on behalf of soldiers. I believe that this war, upon which I entered as a war of defense and liberation, has now become a war of aggression and conquest. I believe that the purposes for which I and my fellow-soldiers entered upon this war should have been so clearly stated as to have made it impossible to change them, and that, had this been done, the objects which actuated us would now be attainable by negotiation.

I have seen and endured the sufferings of the troops, and I can no longer be a party to prolong these sufferings for ends which I believe to be evil and unjust.

I am not protesting against the conduct of the war, but against the political errors and insincerities for which the fighting men are being sacrificed.

On behalf of those who are suffering now I make this protest against the deception which is being practiced on them; also I believe that I may help to destroy the callous complacence with which the majority of those at home regard the continuance of agonies which they do not share, and which they have not sufficient imagination to realize.

    Siegfried L. Sassoon, July 1917

  15. “If you have noticed the frequent appearance of bloggers and “talkbackers” on the various internet sites who write in less than perfect English and who always support attacking Iran and are defensive about Israel, sometimes overwhelming sites with garbage messages, you are not alone as it is clear that a sustained effort is underway to intimidate, influence opinion, and suppress opposing views.”

  16. After interviewing 3 soldiers of different ranks including a first year, sixth year and 15th year I have come to the conclusion that the question, “Should we be in Iraq?” will not be answered. I received the same answer from all of them and that was that they do what they are told to do and if they started to doubt the reasons for or against it then they would lose their spirit about it. They do however feel they are doing a good thing whether it is “right”, or “wrong”.

“Who defines right or wrong?” This was an answer I received after asking how they felt. She also stated that every day that goes by and less people are afraid of another attack she feels like she is doing the “right” thing.

These soldiers do not choose to go over there, they are told by our government and they do this because that is what they are suppose to do.
