The discussion on charter schools is a joke. Before we destroy public schools, let us take a look at the people they are going to serve. Falling behind other nations in science? A poll was taken of Americans that revealed 18% of the public believes the Earth is the center of the solar system. When one in five Americans believe the Sun circles the Earth, we are not just statistically behind the world, but five centuries behind. When a poll of Texans show that 30% of the largest public school influencer believes that dinosaurs and man roamed the world together, then the problem of education is a lot bigger than private vs public. Moreover, when 51% Texans steadfastly believe in creationism over evolution, then don't waste people's time with some biased documentary. The biggest problem with public education is that it is backward looking, chauvinistic, insular, and religious handicapped.

And you're upset about blowing up the monopoly responsible?

In any case, great interview, Justin. I love it when you point out that your counterpart, Captain Nash, benefits financially from the retention of empire.

Actually, American public schools are functionally atheist and extremely politically correct. They ought to be abolished entirely, and replaced with — nothing. Raise your kids how you want to. Eliminate the income tax at all levels. Then you'll have the money to pay for schooling.

Napolitano is off by an order of magnitude. He said we're spending one trillion a year on the two wars. It's more like $150 billion.
