Egyptian Uprising: Great Video & Photo

The above photo is from the Egyptian protests this week. Hat tip to Robert A. Wicks. (I am not sure if he made the poster. If someone knows the author of this photo/poster, please advise and will give fuller credit).

Here is a link to a great two-minute video produced by Tamer Shaaban. It is gripping. (Thanks to LawHobbit for the link).

For a dissenting view on the Egyptian revolution, check out Daniel McAdams’s comment at the Lew Rockwell blog. Daniel has followed foreign policy very closely for many years.

  1. Regarding the reference to Daniel McAdams' "dissenting view," I have to register my emphatic disagreement — and surprise that Bovard would take it seriously. McAdams says the events in Egypt are akin to the "Rose Revolution" that put Saakashvili in power in Georgia — a US-sponsored and subsidized movement. There is absolutely no evidence for this. As I understand, McAdams is asking us to believe that the US, which finances the Mubarak regime to the tune of $1.5 billion a year, has turned against their longtime client and decided to overthrow him because Mubarak has been lax in " halting cross-border smuggling and helping out in regional crises." Really? That's it? Washington is willing to take a huge risk, and destabilize the region — because of smuggling? I suppose the same "explanation" covers Tunisia, Yemen, and Jordan. This is one conspiracy theory that doesn't even deserve a debunking.

  2. Send this message to DC and all senators that you know of.

For democracy to function democracy needs to empower democracy.., the principals in democracy prohibits empowering dictatorial, tyrants and or apartheid regimes..; therefore,

"As an American citizen, I am deeply ashamed of my government's lukewarm response to the protests in Egypt. President Obama and Vice-President Biden have an opportunity to influence the outcome in favor of a more democratic Egypt. Thus far, they have squandered that chance. I urge all my fellow Americans to contact their senators, representatives, and the White House. It is time to call on Washington to stop supporting tyrants and dictators. It is time for out vaunted American gospel of democracy to be more than empty words and hollow gestures. It is time for a free world, and a Free Egypt!"

    1. You're being naive.

Like all preceding administrations, the Obama administration has no interest in a truly democratic Egypt. Mubarak's been a perfect American marionette for decades, absorbing billion-dollar bribes to pacify his "subjects."

Democracy is nothing more than an attractive buzzword, an entirely illusory fantasy of political empowerment. Please note that Egyptians aren't taking to the polls to affect change.

  3. The torturers and murderers are the "stable governent" supportive of the "peace process"…all a sham, all LIES!!! There will be no "reforms" rather, there will be revolution. Zionazis please take note; the clock is running down.

  4. Guess this means the US will totally succumb to the Zionist Lebensraumers at AIPAC and increase funding to Israel's military and Intel OPs….

  5. Great to see the video.I loved the way of representation and it helps yo increase the business by using this type of strategy.I hope, the ladyboys of patong is the popular according to their work.

  6. My partner and I stumbled over here from a different website and thought I might as well check things out. I like what I see so now i am following you. Look forward to finding out about your web page for a second time

  7. The unspoiled blue waters crash on the white sandy seaside whereas inexperienced palm bushes let the fresh breeze pass by. Vacationers on the seashore can go for jet snowboarding or drive a water scooter as well. Go swimming or snorkeling around the beach or get pleasure from beach video games like seashore volley.
