Plane Down in New York, Several Buildings Hit
Possible Terrorist Act

American Airlines Flight 587, headed for Santo Domingo, in the Dominican Republic, is down in Queens, NY, in a densely populated shopping area. At least 4 buildings are on fire. The Airbus A300 went down at 9:17 a.m. The area has been evacuated. All area airports are closed.

An eyewitness told Fox News that there appeared to have been an explosion in the air, sending debris flying all over the place before the plane crashed to the ground. Another witness reported seeing an engine fall off the plane while it was in the air.
