This fund drive has been a long two and a half weeks, and now we just need you to help us over the top so we can get back to our real work – reporting, analyzing, and commenting on the news.

We are less than $7,000 short of our goal. That's the good news. The response to our increasingly frantic SOS to our readers has been an outpouring of support, for which we are unbelievably grateful.

This has been one hair-raising fundraiser – scary. There's no other word for it. We're all living through some tough times, and this harrowing experience has certainly impressed that reality on us. More people are giving, but they're giving less. Which just goes to show that every little bit helps.
