We Have Always Depended on the Kindness of Strangers

And now we need your support more than ever!

For over a decade, you, our readers and supporters, have gotten us through thick and thin. You have stood by us loyally and pulled us out of more budget crises than we care to remember. Flat on our back and about to expire, like Blanche DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire, we have looked to you to lift us up and offer us your arm.

With everyone near flat on their backs financially these days, it has been especially difficult for us to meet our fundraising goals. Worse yet, war clouds are gathering on the horizon, and the prospect of another conflict in the Middle East – this time with Iran – looms large.

Depending on the kindness of strangers can be a risky business, but then again, our readers and supporters aren't exactly strangers. You've come to know us in this tumultuous era, a time of perpetual war and uncertainty. You depend on us for the real news behind the headlines, and we depend on you for the fuel we need to keep going.

This fundraising campaign has been hard – very hard. The economy is sapped by the outpouring of wealth that goes into making war, vast sums that could have been spent at home. We're all feeling the pinch, and we'll keep feeling it until we can stanch the flow of taxpayer dollars into military adventures and empire-building abroad.

There's just one way to do that: we need a complete about-face in our foreign policy. This is our mission and our passion, but we can't go it alone.

We don't want to slash services, especially when the threat of a new war is imminent, yet we will have to unless we meet our modest fundraising goal. We have always depended on the kindness of our readers to keep this site up and running, so please contribute today.*

Sorry for the interruption.

*If you contribute $200 or more, you will get an autographed copy of Justin Raimondo's just-reissued Reclaiming the American Right: The Lost Legacy of the Conservative Movement, the story of how the neocons took over the conservative movement and buried the true history of the anti-interventionist Right. It exposes the radical origins of neoconservatism while harking back to an older tradition of opposition to foreign wars. And if you contribute $500 or more, you will get a personally-inscribed copy of the book (your choice of message).
