"Pentagon Peaceniks" is not an oxymoron

Ok, long quote, but worthy...

He [Saddam] has not waged war against any other state, and there's no evidence he's supported any terrorist groups or activities. His own arsenal of missiles is virtually non-existent, and he has no means to deliver the chemical and biological weapons he probably does have. Since containment has worked so far, they argue, what's the point of launching a full-scale war?

Here, Sam Francis echoes the sentiments of generals advising the president not to invade Iraq. These men have left their warmongering mindset and have entered a dangerous arena: reasoning with a unreasonable president. Good luck!

Chasing tail

Robert Scheer can hear "Here war, come here boy!" in the president's attempt to "wag the dog." This time, however, bombs may truly drop on an historic city of three million who will be reclassified from oppressed citizens to collateral damage.

Peace is war, Freedom is ...

Spoken like a true Party member, Big Brother Bush states:

"There's no telling how many wars it will take to secure freedom in the homeland."

Supposedly Iraq is only the beginning of a wonderful emancipation of the restraints that the foreign "evils" are imposing upon Americans. All this for freedom.... oh yeah I forget – slavery.

Saving face... with nukes

Congress has been told that, upon invading Iraq, Saddam is quite likely to bomb nearby Israel. Because their "credibility would be hurt if they failed to react this time," it is predicted that Israel will respond with "nuclear ground bursts against every Iraqi city not already occupied by US-led coalition forces." Yeah, that wouldn't invite more Jihad....

The law according to Ashcroft

A recent court case ordered the Justice Department to release the names of the 9/11 detainees, to the chagrin of John Ashcroft. Undoubtedly, he will label this ruling a "terrorist act," eliminate judicial review and declare himself sole interpreter of the Constitution.

Mass murder justified?

August 6th – Hiroshima Day. Questions still remain concerning this disastrous day. Some analyses demonstrate necessity never existed and thus, there is no justification for the hundreds of thousands of dead and wounded. Moreover, the US has yet to apologize for the horrific attack on civilians.
