Trust me, you are threatened

Reasoning doesn't come easily to the president, even when presented by Charley Reese:

Deterrence worked against Josef Stalin, one of the greatest mass murderers in human history, even though he was armed with a million times more weapons of mass destruction than Iraq, but, in Mr. Bush's view, it will not work against Saddam.

The president continues to shout "Fire!" when nations around Iraq aren't feeling any heat while his bureaucrat buddies are making half-truths and ignoring reality.

"...several sandwiches short of a full diplomatic picnic."

Without those crucial sandwiches, the debate concerning Iraq, and the subsequent conquest of the Middle East, is lacking. The only thing Bush and his chicken-hawks are hungry for is a combustible black fluid and an empire.

Who needs borders?

Not the US military. Hoping to ride the coattails of the virulent spread of the war on terror, the US government pleads with the world for rights to follow boats into sovereign waters.

No success like failure

Who can deny it...it is the nature of government: failure is rewarded with more money, support and resources. Example: the military's failed attempt to capture and destroy the human infrastructure of the al-Qaeda has led to the a justification for the "axis of evil," an impending invasion of Iraq and inevitable spread of covert US military actions.

Now Playing: M - Pire

Now touring the nation's capital, the hit band M - Pire, featuring Warlord Bush on vocals, backup singer Rumsy and guitarist Wolfo. The next leg of the "Overhaul" tour is the Middle East. Their spokesman reports:

“The thinking in the administration [M -Pire] is really evolving toward the idea of promoting democracy and regime change—an overhaul of the Arab and Islamic world, rather than dealing with it as it is."(emphasis mine)

Death is working overtime

Yossi Sarid has seen the evils of both sides of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and wonders how it is to end. He writes:

The death machine works three shifts a day, cranking out victims, theirs and ours, and is there anyone out there who can actually tell them apart?

Maybe when one understands that all the dead are victims will the violence end....
