Listen
to your daddy and his friends
The man who preached a "New World Order" appears
to be scolding his offspring:
In recent days almost the entire war cabinet of Mr Bush
Sr has lined up to warn against attacking Iraq without
international support...
Baker, Schwarzkopf, Kissinger, Ewens, Eagleburger, and
Zinni: wow, what a list! Bush Jr. better listen.
Bush
vs. Bush Round 1, 2, 3, 4...
John
LeBoutillie suggests that all those influential conservatives
(see list above) who have "come out" against
an Iraq war may
be a Bush Sr. plan:
So
the father an intensely competitive man
is sitting up in Kennebunkport watching his son and his
son's staff criticizing him! Thus the Scowcroft campaign
to try to stop the son's Baghdad operation.
I
know how we end the debate. Have two advisors of both
presidents fight it out in a caged brawl: Schwarzkopf
v. Wolfowitz.
It
was Dr. Zack!!!
The
mainstream media and the government (lately the two seem
synonymous) thrive on the ignorance of the past. (Bin
Laden who?) Delinda
Curtiss Hanley is the one of the few to utter Zack's name,
while she asks:
"...
was the press warned off the sensitive subject?"
Good question, for I recall that they were the target
of many of the mailings. Fortunately, the problem was
solved right
here in February.
Minding someone else's business
At first glance, Macedonian politics would appear to be
low priority for the US government. Not
so says Christopher Deliso:
...the
US seems to want an SDSM victory at all costs, and will
try and attain this goal through every conceivable method
of intervention possible.
I really don't understand why the State Department feels
like meddling, but I think I have found a great place
to live, the Albanian portions of Macedonia:
Macedonian tax collectors ... do not force Albanians
to pay, out of fear of being killed in hostile villages.
Lesson for today: The two "Ds"
Sami Al-Arian has been of forced paid leave for the past
11 months. His crime: advocating his own solution to the
Israel/Palestine conflict. This supposed terrorist
understands two fundamental principles of the (former)
American republic: dissent and due process. Unfortunately,
the post 9-11 punishment for the former has silenced a
majority if the media, ruined CATO, tainted the LP while
the latter has been ignored by Ashcroft and his Patriot
Act.
Go Russia!?!?
By agreeing to a $40 billion economic deal with Iraq,
Russia has put a "diplomatic
monkey wrench" in Bush's plans for war.
I repeat: Go Russia! I never knew that had that much money
to deal... Nevertheless, maybe intervention (from
a Russian standpoint of course) ain't that bad.
Empire creep
Who ever said Afghanistan was the only place the US would
wage war, is
sure in for a reality check now that General Tommy Franks
suggested ... that American-led anti-terror operations
needed to look also at countries neighboring Afghanistan.
Of course, one could never suggest that, dare say, oil
is an issue, especially given the unambiguous nature of
Franks statements:
Franks
gave no details of the type of ``relations'' the United
States has with Afghanistan's neighbors...
