Posted March 20, 2002 Sudden Side Change First of all, an all-out praise on Justin's courage and bravery in exposing Israel, very few dare to speak out. I have to also make the point that U.S.'s sudden side change into showing some Palestinian support and sympathy isn't because of Israel's corruptness, let's be real, they want to drum up support from the Arabs for an attack on Iraq, simple. Move After reading Justin Raimondo's article named "Never Mind Osama -- Let's Conquer The World Instead," specifically: "President Bush's State of the Union speech confirms what we have long maintained on this website: the 'war on terrorism' is not a defensive operation, but a war of conquest." I think Mr. Raimondo should follow his heart and renounce his US citizenship and move to some communist/Marxist country. I, for one, would sleep much better without someone like this enjoying the freedoms bought with our troop's blood. Justin Raimondo replies: Take a couple of downers, Mike, and count sheep. You're sleepwalking anyway.... Moral Equivalence Justin Raimondo's October 15th 2001 article, "The Peacenicks" gives me pause for thought. I do think that there is a moral equivalence between what the US has done in the past and what happened on Sept 11th. Cambodia and Vietnam are just two examples where the bodies of civilians were piled too high to contemplate. However you have a point that many Americans may be repelled by the idea of comparing these and other atrocities with Sept 11th, since even some book writers seem to think that at least between the fall of the Iron Curtain and Sept 11th, 2001 we lived in a world of peace and harmony.... Many people need to be awakened on these issues. Thanks for your contribution to this effort. Refugee Camps The West Bank map looks like a slice of Swiss cheese with the scattered holes under Palestinian control at various levels, surrounded and disjointed by Israeli settlements, military installations, and bypass and other roads. In this case the old saw about " a picture is worth a thousand words" passes the test. (I am looking at a map that appeared in Christianity Today January 8, page 67 -- Rev. Billy Graham's magazine -- as part of a series of articles and letters debating the two sides and whether the Palestinians should be given more consideration.) The refugee camps puzzle me. What agency is in charge? Could it be the UN or the Red Cross? Why aren't reports from that agency issued to the media? Enemies List I would consider it an honor to be on AVOT's and Bill Bennett's enemies list. Do you have to be "tapped" for it or can you apply somewhere? Spy Stuff ...[Justin Raimondo is] starting to sound like a broken record with this Israeli art student spy stuff. What are you trying to say? Is it that so called friendly nations do not spy on each other? If you are suggesting this you must have lost the plot as even in our ''neck of the woods'' we had some French agents not only spy on us but they sunk a boat (Rainbow Warrior) in Auckland harbor killing one person. And I am sure there are plenty of CIA snooping down here keeping a watch over Empire. In your articles on this subject after expressing shock and horror at how those Israeli ingrates could dare spy on ''Uncle Sam'' you then seem to suggest that these Mossad agents new something about Sept. 11 and did not let on. I could just as easily surmise that the Israelis did tell the US and for what ever reason (it is not hard to come up with ways that Sept. 11 has benefited Empire) did nothing about it. I usually enjoy reading your articles but it seems that when it comes to Israel logic and reason desert you. ~ Tom W., New Zealand |
