In the Know

Allow me to congratulate you on your [Alan Bock's] very fine article, "Invasion Complications." It is full of insight.

What particularly impressed me was your interviews with people who are not only "in the know" but have something important to say about our forthcoming slaughter of more innocents. I will do what I can to encourage others to read your excellent piece.

Greek or Slavic?

A response from true Macedonia to "Seducing Intervention:The Dangers of Diaspora":

...Mr. Deliso ... states that "academics tend not to make black and white decisions in regards to such extremely complex issues". I will help him and the confused academics by asking them some simple questions.

  1. Did anyone find a sign of the mysterious language that Macedonians used to speak before Greek?
  2. Are the names Alexander, Philip (father of Alexander), Amyntas (grandfather), Olympias (mother), Thessaloniki (sister), the names of all Alexander's generals, the names of all classic cities in Macedonia and the name Macedonia itself Greek or Slavic?
  3. The Slavs came in the peninsula around 700 AD -- YES or NO?

...In a previous article Mr. Deliso wrote that "Macedonians" don't love their country enough. He offered many explanations but missed the profound one. Ordinary people do not share the delusions of the writer and former communist elite (which became pro-Soros, pro-NATO, pro-EU, pro-Democracy). Nation building is a long process and it can't be shortened even by communist dictators or paid scholars or visionary currency speculators.

And a note to Antiwar.com. You often mention the farewell address of Washington as a guide to US foreign policy. But by using the term Macedonia referring to FYROM and the banner "Macedonia News" with the flag of FYROM you are taking side to a conflict that you don't know enough about.

Anyway, I congratulate you for the wonderful work that you do.

Debunk War

I want to thank everyone at Antiwar.com for their consistent and reasonable voice against committing our nation to wars for dubious aims. I would also like to thank you for your excellent archive and linkage of articles and opinion pieces that explore and debunk war wherever it may occur on our planet.

Bizarro World

Justin's article about the "Bizarro" world rings true. All of a sudden we are deluged with reports of why we should or should not attack Iraq, then the old war dogs come out against w's push for war! Humm -- perhaps another Israeli connection? With the November elections just around the corner and how Israel says that Iraq should be attacked now perhaps W is pandering to the Zionist vote in overdrive. This is blatant manipulation by the administration.

...I recently made a road trip through Georgia and South Carolina. I was listening to an "oldies" station on the radio that constantly had solicitations regarding aid to newly arrived Israeli settlers. The solicitor was The Jewish Journal, and they were pandering to the Christian fundamentalists who believe in the Biblical prophesy regarding the return of Jews to the holy land. This is absurd and extremely disturbing that Americans are concerning themselves more about the welfare of Israelis than their own citizens!

It is complete madness that the American government supports this hideous state in such unconditional terms. I am not anti-Semitic, but I do not support the malignant state that Israel has become. The support of Israel first is support for Terror.

Funds

I have seen numerous articles on your web site condemning Israel for their actions, possible links to 9/11, and the amount of financial aid the U.S. provides. What I (and probably many other citizens of the US) are ignorant about, but would like to know is what perqs the citizens of Israel get in regards to health care, mortgage assistance, etc.

...I just had to fork over $35.00 per pill for my wife's medication and I'm real interested to learn weather or not the US provides funds for Israeli health care. Being an election year, this information would be very valuable in the war against "terrorism."

~ Rick O.

Managing editor Eric Garris replies:

I don't know offhand, but Israel is a socialist system where healthcare is free to all citizens. Even if we are not paying directly for it, we are allowing them to do it by giving them $4 billion in military aid.

The New America

I have just discovered your website, Antiwar.com, and am completely intrigued by the articles. I have to admit that after September 11 I was one of the many Americans with a wave of patriotism and senseless war cries. But in the past months I have been reading many essays and articles concerning our government's outright duplicity. Most recently I read parts of William L. Shirer's book, The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, and am absolutely horrified at the consistencies of the actions of the New America and Nazi Germany.

...I believe that, since most Americans abhor Adolf Hitler, if this information were widely spread to Americans through Antiwar.com and other websites that it would aid in the restoration of the republic and deposition of the tyrants in Washington.

Murawiec and Larouche

[Regarding Justin Raimondo's column, "Going After the Saudis":]

As I have known Laurent Murawiec since his first association with us in Paris in 1973 and am quite familiar with his actual allegiances as they emerged in 1986 when he opposed EIR's Special Report on Ariel Sharon and the Israeli Mafia, there are some aspects of the Richard Perle Defense Policy Board appearance of Murawiec that you are clearly uninformed or misinformed about, or worse. 1986 was a high point of a multi-million dollar operation undertaken against Lyndon LaRouche and his associates, involving corrupt judicial and related covert operations run simultaneously in several countries (US, France, Italy), dirty tricks operations that would have made the East German secret police, the STASI, jealous, and, as shown in our submissions with Ramsey Clark in the US Virginia Eastern District Appeals Court, conducted under the enabling provisions of presidential Executive Order 12333. Simply stated: Murawiec became a part of that operation against LaRouche.

For your purposes, the relevant figure accompanying Murawiec from 1986 to his July 10 Defense Policy Board Pentagon appearance is Fred Ikle, now at CSIS (Center for Strategic and International Studies, Washington). From at least 1986, Murawiec was run by a group in Switzerland operating through weapons trafficker Helmut Raiser (The Condor missile project and the European Explosives Cartel); Elisabeth Kopp (nee Ikle, a close relative of Fred Ikle), the former Justice Minister of Switzerland who resigned in 1988 because she tipped off her husband, Hans Kopp, that Shakarchi Trading, on whose board he sat, was under a DEA narcotics money laundering investigation; Pierre Hafner, of the holding company of Geneva's Union Bancaire Privee (UBP), a merger of the De Picciotto and Edmund Safra banking interests in that city, and all that means, in terms of Iran-Contra. This grouping created a hand tailored consultancy for Murawiec called GEOPOL. If you look at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings of the Virginia-based Department of Defense subcontractor TELOS, in particular its Board of Directors, you will find a nest of Richard Perle associates, including Chairman of the Board Ikle and Stephen Bryen, who worked under Perle in the 1980's Pentagon. Also on the board is John Boland whose wife, Mira Lansky Boland, left working under Andy Marshall at the Pentagon's Office of Net Assessments (ONA) to head up the Washington, D.C. office of the Anti Defamation League (ADL) Fact Finding Division's Get LaRouche Taskforce. Marshall and Ikle are longtime associates, going back to their days together at the RAND Corporation in the 1950's. CEO John Wood goes back to 1985/1986 in Switzerland, but we're waiting a bit to have some fun with that one.

Whether it pleases you or not, in fact, the career of Murawiec from 1986 on, is a demonstration of who the actual enemies of LaRouche are, and gives an idea of the very real policy battles the have raged, largely behind the scenes, regarding the international activities of LaRouche, activities the importance of which you seem unable to grasp. Murawiec's patrons, which include that aging ex-Trotskyist Irving Kristol, the "Lehrmeister" of many of the Wolfowitz Cabal warhawks in and around the Administration, have not made a mistake, they are merely devious and dishonest, using methods fitting for their own immoral character. As their leading opponents, we have known this reality for decades. Perhaps some others can now understand what LaRouche is about and begin assisting us in eliminating the shadow presidential aspirants, warhawks McCain and Lieberman, so that the actual battlefield around the current administration is clear for all to choose.
