Belgrade, March 31, 2001, 09:00 p.m.

About 10,000 policemen are in the streets of Belgrade with special units surrounding the home of President Milosevic. They are waiting for a 10:00 p.m. ultimatum to expire. After that they have threatened not only to arrest President Miloshevich but to launch a witchhunt against the Serbian Socialist Party.

Throughout the day, these enormous armed security units prevented thousands of Socialist Party (SPS) supporters from gathering around the President’s home.

Yugoslav Federation President Kostunica appeared on TV tonight with a statement that "no individual should endanger the general state interest", after meeting with top state and army officials.

After the last two elections in Greece, despite numerous legal charges, nobody attempted to arrest either Papandreou or Mitzotakis. The day before yesterday President Chirac of France publicly declared that he has no intention to appear in court in connection with charges which have followed him since the time he was the Mayor of Paris.

So why are these charges, and this huge force, being deployed against President Miloshevic? It is no secret that Washington has ordered this arrest. It is stated openly by U.S. officials, in public statements to the press.

Nobody can recall a case in history or in legal practice where anybody, and especially not a former head of state, was arrested on the basis of such charges with thousands of special policemen.

But many cases can be recalled when illegal dictatorial regimes like today’s Belgrade regime, regimes which were created by the U.S.A., produced bloodbaths. This is now to be imposed on a European country as the standard of democracy.

Please act before it's too late. By saving Slobodan Milosevic's life you will be saving democracy, law, justice, peace and your own soul!
