Unfortunately not true. In my teen years i followed Hagee and looking back it was quite foolish but very understandable given the average persons inability to determine any sort of truth on their own that follows logic.
In other words, the way we determine what is true, is NOT REASONING through it on our own, but by accepting what is claimed to be truth from an authority (i.e. teachers, preachers, bible etc.) In light of this, it is totally understandable why so many other follow Hagee on the fringes or for that matter any of the second-handers in the mainstream.

I think that one has to understand that the unknown Greek speaking authors of the gospels, written some 40-80 years after the death of Jesus of Nazareth, never saw Jesus nor heard him speak a word. They were writing their own defense of the so-called Savior from rumors and stories that had been retold and enhanced for many years and in many langauges. No one can prove even that there is this biblical god or that Jesus was the “son” of that god. People need to be more critical and read and understand just how the bible was written and for what purpose.

I might be careful in calling him a clown. He is a powerful man that is advocating for regional war, and is a very dangerous adversary. When I look at Hagee I’m constantly reminded of my sister who, with cancer and undergoing chemotherapy, traveled all the way to San Antonio to attend some service or rally looking for a miracle.
That was long ago before he acquired his current notoriety, but even then I considered him a loud mouthed blow-hard. How you say things is as important as what you say and I knew from the beginning that while he may “believe” the script he’s quite a bad actor.

And as a side note, someone asked which Christian leader has condemned the war? The Pope, my friend. The old testament contains numerous admonitions against holding persons in bondage without pay of both hebrews and gentiles and the god character in the Bible punishes entire cities and nations for doing such.
Please be cautious of making universal declarations as truth when it is apparent you have done no significant research.
There are certain laws in the Old Testament that allowed for slavery. Hebrew slaves had to be set free after seven years unless they chose to remain slaves for life.

As a born-again Christian myself,I am troubled that men such as Hagee,Pat Robertson,and other religious broadcasters have a “support Israel or else” mentality along with thinking the Iraq war is God’s war. They base their beliefs about Israel on Genesis 12:3 when God told Abraham,”I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you” after God named Abraham the father of many nations. I am also troubled about Hagee’s views of the Constitution when the Constitution says that the President MUST at all times ask Congress for a declaration of war. Even Franklin D.Roosevelt knew this the day after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and knew he was not “the decider” as George W.Bush so arrogantly claims he is.

John Hagee represents a much larger group (including, Hal Lindsey, Tim LaHaye, John Ankerberg, etc.) who, in my opionion, mistakenly apply Genesis 12:3 to natural Israel (i.e., modern-day political Israel), whereas Genesis 12:3 actually applies, I believe, to spiritual Israel (i.e., the church composed of both Jewish and Gentile believers).
Many Bible scholars assert that the Apostle Paul, e.g., in Galatians and Romans, makes this point very clearly, that Genesis 12:3 should be interpreted as having a spiritual application, not a natural application. This is critical, because Hagee of course uses this highly dubious natural interpretation of Genesis 12:3 as grounds for his pro-Israel military policies.

(3) Neoconservative Jews in the media, think tanks and government departments– socially liberal, rarely religious, almost never with any combat experience (except maybe in the IDF), but in awe of Moloch, gagging for gentile America to go on fighting the wars that will put “our people” on top in a One World state… and keep those barbarian Palestinians in their place cleaning the settlers’ swimming pools.

I attend Cornerstone Church every Sunday. Hagee employs copious amounts of fallacious arguments (appeals to ignorance, fear, authority, slippery slope, non sequiturs, etc.) and engages in obnoxious diatribes against “those liberals”, “those moderates”, “those lukewarm Christians”, “those secular humanists”, etc. ad nauseam. I have pity on the people (especially the children) that hear his ridiculous rhetoric. However, he does have a good singing voice, yet his preaching voice hurts my ears–literally. See all you lukewarm Christians, secular humanists, and other “godless” people in the lake of fire and brimstone (according to Hagee). Rock on! :-)

Hagee preaches Prosperity Gospel, which is quite different from the theology followed by most evangelical denominations like Southern Baptists. But these churches have increasingly adopted his dispensational aspects and especially his love of Israel. And these denominations are increasingly following his exhortations to denounce as haturds any groups that refer to the church today as the real Israel- a belief that dominated to the point of orthodoxy for many centuries. So beliefs that were common are now characterized as anti-Semitic “replacement theology” and followers of these beliefs- many Presbyterians, Reformed and Lutheran churches, for instance- are seen as following in the footsteps of Hitler.
Hagee sweats gravy for the TV audiences in order to fatten his purse, but any sense of credibility outside evangelical circles has been given by neocon/Zionist interests. He grazes just close enough to typical dispy teachings to make him acceptable to most other evangelicals, who have had apocalyptic eschatology rammed down their throat for so long that they are frightened to denounce the man.
He’s a fat weasel, and he needs more than anything else to be introduced to a lamp post on Constitution avenue- hopefully a fairly sturdy one.
While I disagree with ad hominem attacks, Hagee’s sermons indicate that he either lacks a proper understanding of, or simply ignores the guiding principles of constitutional republican government. His prosperity gospel is most entertaining though. He instructs the congregation to hold their tithes/offerings up into the air while he prays a special blessing from Gawwwd onto those faithful givers. I guess I and a few other poor souls are SOL. :-D
He is very powerful. Moyers intervied him on PBS this last weekend. His followers go to DC and meet with congressman. If the poor congresscritter doesn’t except their dictates they scream and threaten them. It was a scary thing to watch.

With all of the similar scandals we have seen with the other TV money-changers perhaps they will find some justification for such conduct in holy script.

I have spent the last 14 years studying Church history and especially the origins of dispensational eschatology. I have found that system and the message of Hagge to be a contradiction to the Bible and the cause of much of the problems in the Middle East. Many years ago, having earlier been exposed to the “Ryrie Study Bible” at an early age, I seriously considered attending Dallas Seminary. At that time, I had received a limited exposure to various views on eschatology, and was simply uninformed about any alternatives to dispensationalism. I think that many Christians today, as I was then, are simply uninformed about the options avaiable in the study of eschatology. Your web-site is a brilliant resource for anyone who wishes to become well-informed about dispensationalism.
How can anyone call themselves a Christian when they don’t believe in or follow the commandments of Christ as given in the Sermon on the Mount? If He was sent to us from God, it was to give us a message or formula for harmony. If we choose to ignore it, then we have wasted a very valuable lesson and we will have human disharmony as usual.

Complacency is the one true problem of ALL people. Pastor Hagee is trying to get people involved by paying attention to politics and religion. You do not have to beleive in him, for he is just a messenger. Like John the baptist, a voice crying in the wilderness, yet regarded by many as a crazy possesed man. His motivation, may not be politically correct, but is effective. Look at the responses, it worked. You all have listened, and agree or disagree, HIS word was researched and looked at. This talk show host had an agenda, political and one sided only. Pastor Hagee answered the twisted questions many times, still to no avail. His answers were not of the same view as the host, so no answer was good enough even with facts to back up the questions. Stop debating whether or not one man has all the answers, because only God does.

I may not agree with every response or statements that John Hagee says,but I would say that first you must know the written word and understand it’s meaning. The Bible deals in word pictures, concepts ,facts. The greatest lie that has been broadcast by Satan is that there is no such thing as “truth”- but only illusions, opinions, and myths. And a lot of you people must don’t know the author of the bible. That’s Yahshua our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. One of my biggest problems with John Hagee is he personnaly earns over a millopn dollars a year and lives in the nicest exclusive neighborhood in San Antonio. He does not pay taxes on his personal money either. In the Gospels how much money did Jesus take for doing what he did? Zero. How many tithes did Jesus ask for? Zero.
