  1. Slaughter wants slaughter. She ignores the fact that Syria's neighbors aren't interested in making Syria like us, but pull them into their own orbit of influence. She glosses over the tribalism and paints a simplified picture that people watching can rally around and parrot to each other. There are violent demonstrations in Afghanistan against a certain (foreign) government that kills people there. Should the US protect and arm those that do so? No

She also ignores the hypocrisy in how Americans deals with different countries in the region. Scahill did a good job by arguing caution!

  2. God damn what childish arguments. Yes let's will into existence magical "no-kill" bubbles. In fact let's stretch them over the whole world. Let's have the USAF kill the fuck out of anyone who just thinks about killing someone. Let's also have it cure cancer and solve peak oil. Let us bomb the world into sustainable development, a smaller carbon footprint, women's rights, affirmative action, social solidarity and other Righteous Progressive Causes. Because not sending the USAF to bomb the only remaining doctrinally secular, anti-colonial Arab country just wouldn't be progressive enough.

I don't know about you but if this starts I'm rooting for the Syrian AAA — the defenders of Syria's skies. A clear eye and a steady hand!

  3. Really, I don't understand why US military is doing nothing to stop the violations occur in these countries. It should be the best chance for them to do something right that only to make new war.

    1. the us military is a killing machine, it leaves nought but destruction and civil war in it's wake, it is unfit for the process of "liberation" which is at it's essence a bottom up struggle, not merely one where you get the bigger bully on the block to stand up for you

  4. Scahill should have let her have it.
She is an agent of the US Empire which is marching across the Middle East and Central Asia, killing millions (1.2 in Iraq alone), killing children with sanctions and sending out a clear message: "Join our agenda against the Palestinians, the Russians and all others who defy us – or have your country destroyed. Submit or be destroyed."
That is the fact. Slaughter's intentions are not known – but her actions are barbaric and that is all that counts.
    Scahill should have said so.
And we should realize the brutality and viciousness of our rulers who will do the same to us unless we put a stop to their imperial designs.

  5. Jeremy Scahill is one of the few, Dr. Paui Craig Roberts is also another voice who will, let the war party have it, without the mercy as A;lyona Minkovski would say. Clearly the democrat wing and the republican wing of the war party have nothing but killing on the brain. This slaughter woman is clearly an imperial pig if ever there was one. Too bad msnbc is in the pocket of the obomber white house. Don't expect to see Jeremy Scahill all that often as this thrashing that he gave to one of their killer mouthpieces.

  6. What swell guys! I suppose that the Taliban is also showing a lot of restrain by not killing the mercenaries.

  7. Let's also have it cure cancer and solve peak oil. Let us bomb the world into sustainable development, a smaller carbon footprint, women's rights, affirmative action, social solidarity and other Righteous Progressive Causes.
