Who’s The Bigger War Criminal – Rep. Duncan Hunter… Or Those Who Sent Him To Iraq?

Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-CA) has found himself in the hot seat after defending a Navy SEAL on trial for wantonly killing civilians and stabbing prisoners while in Iraq. On a podcast, Hunter wondered what the big deal was – after all, he’s responsible for hundreds of civilians killed in Fallujah. It sounds like a war crime, but perhaps the real war criminals are the neocon liars and a feckless president who sent the military into Iraq in the first place. If Hunter belongs on the dock, so does half the Bush Administration. On today’s Ron Paul Liberty Report:

  1. People want to let soldiers off the hook because they were “just following orders.” Where have we heard that before, and where has it been said that that kind of BS is NO DEFENSE for one’s behavior? Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler made it quite clear all the way back in the 1930s as to what America’s military is REALLY USED FOR. If not that book, then the atrocity of the Korean “war,” the sham of the Vietnam “war,” and EVERY “war” since, should have made it quite clear to everyone what the military is really about. And yet we continue to hear the lies, the justifications, and the platitudes about these folks “protecting our freedoms” when it is clear that the ONLY people threatening and destroying our freedoms, are the parasites that infest our local, state, and federal government offices (both elected and un-elected). Nobody thousands of miles away has EVER truly threatened the American way of life, but every day it is destroyed more and more by folks right here at home while the military does nothing. Anyone who volunteers for the military should know by now that they will be party to war crimes in foreign lands. Using the excuse of not having any other job prospects or similar is simply moral cowardice in trying to hide from the blatant truth. I do not left the criminals in our government off the hook, but how many of these wars would have been waged if there had been NOBODY in the ranks to wage them?

  2. This man is a straight up terrorist. Why shouldn’t he be treated the same way we treat Al Qaeda? Lock him up at Guantanamo.
