18-Year Afghan War Coming to an End? Don’t Hold Your Breath!

The US and Taliban have reportedly arrived at a deal to begin drawing US troops down from the current 13,000 to 8,600 and then…well no one knows. The initial reduction of hostilities will begin on 22 February and if successful the drawdown will follow. Already neocons in Washington are warning Trump not to be “too hasty” about ending the 18 year war. Will the US finally come home from Afghanistan? Don’t count on it! 1. Here’s a recent Tulsi Gabbard video regarding the Afghan War: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UenYifbd72Y

An excellent way for libertarians and real conservatives to protest wasteful, destructive, unnecessary wars is to vote for Tulsi Gabbard in the primary election. Fairly easy and effective. Maybe you will help her pick up a delegate and perhaps get back on the debate stage. You may need to re-register as a Democrat or as ‘no party preference’ (if it’s not too late in your State), it’s worth it, you can switch back later. Check with your state election agency for the rules. Here’s a website that provides a link to election info for all states:
    https://www.eac.gov/voters/register-and-vote-in-your-state.

In California (and some other states) you can re-register online up to 15 days before an election. So for California’s March 3rd primary you have until Tuesday 2/18 midnight (application: https://covr.sos.ca.gov). After that, in California, you can still re-register at your polling location on Election Day (called Conditional Voter Registration) and ask for the Democratic ballot and vote for Tulsi. Your vote goes into a ‘Provisional Envelope’ and once your eligibility to cast a ballot is verified, your CVR provisional ballot will be counted. There’s been some talk about problems counting these ballots, but it’s worth the risk to help save the world.

Trump doesn’t need your vote in the primary, but Tulsi sure does.

Here’s a website with info, links, interviews, policy positions and video about Tulsi :

That website also includes links to a selection of articles providing a bit of history & analysis re: recent US involvement in Iraq, Libya, Syria, Yemen and Iran.

  2. Note…8500 troops were deployed in Afghanistan when trump entered office. They were in “non-combat roles. Since 1/17, they have resumed combat missions, and quadrupled air strikes. Don’t believe any trump draw down bs.
