Nothing."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Justin Elliott had a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.salon.com\/news\/politics\/war_room\/2011\/09\/12\/obama_iraq_promise\/index.html\">good piece in Salon yesterday<\/a>, which we featured here. But when I went to read it, the subtitle made me laugh out loud.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The president promised early on to withdraw all U.S. troops from Iraq by the end of 2011. What changed?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>What changed? LOL. Nothing. Anything Obama said that didn&#8217;t involve escalating something &#8212; he <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/2007\/08\/01\/us-usa-politics-obama-idUSN0132206420070801\">shook his fist at Pakistan<\/a> even when &#8220;bomb bomb Iran&#8221; McCain was cautious about bombing a nominal ally &#8212; was a total lie. Seriously, the man hasn&#8217;t kept any campaign promises. Even domestic stuff like Obamacare was a betrayal of his progressive base &#8212; it just <a href=\"http:\/\/www.correntewire.com\/why_obamacare_sucks_how_corporate_greed_politicians_betrayal_most_citizens_myopic_cronyism_screwed_a\">duped the left<\/a> into getting on board a plot to deliver all of us into the clutches of the corporate insurance oligarchy. How did we really think the wars would go?<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not saying I had good judgment myself; I thought he&#8217;d be marginally better than Bush on foreign policy. Instead, he is worse in every way. And yet there are still partisans who slaver over him as long as he&#8217;s still preceded by that magic D. Democrat, not Disgusting. <em>He shot bin Laden in the f&#8217;n face!<\/em> PROGRESSIVE!<\/p>\n<p>Not to go on too long, as I can. Nothing changed, Justin Elliott. Obama was and is a liar, especially on Iraq. But hey, <a href=\"http:\/\/news.antiwar.com\/2011\/09\/06\/reports-obama-to-keep-3000-troops-in-iraq-after-december\/\">leaving a few troops in Iraq<\/a> when he said he&#8217;d take them all out (well, aside from <a href=\"http:\/\/news.antiwar.com\/2011\/09\/07\/iraq-drawdown-signals-new-client-state-status-ongoing-occupation\/\">thousands upon thousands of contractors<\/a>) gives him the opportunity to <a href=\"http:\/\/news.antiwar.com\/2010\/08\/31\/obama-lauds-fake-end-to-iraq-war-as-historic-moment\/\">end the Iraq War<\/a> three times!
