Some tanks have begun to fall back, but fighting continues, as does Western support for the opposition. <\/p>\n In Bid for Iraqi Crude, Oil Corporations Play Politics<\/u><\/a>: Major oil companies including Exxon Mobil and Shell are playing politics in Iraq, juggling the autonomous Kurdish north with the central government in Baghdad in an attempt to capitalize on contracts made possible by Washington\u2019s war of aggression.<\/p>\n ICC Rejects Palestinian Bid to Investigate Israeli War Crimes<\/u><\/a>: The International Criminal Court announced it will reject a request by the Palestinian Authority to investigate alleged Israeli war crimes during Operation Cast Lead in Gaza on the grounds that Palestine is not recognized as a state.
