And it apparently worked since\u00a0Washington spent so much time hysterically denouncing the country for its pathetic failure of a missile test launch last week.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div id=\"attachment_14784\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.antiwar.com\/blog\/2012\/04\/26\/north-koreas-toy-weapons\/article-2135727-129a5443000005dc-131_634x405\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-14784\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-14784\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-14784 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.antiwar.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/article-2135727-129A5443000005DC-131_634x405-300x191.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"191\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.antiwar.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/article-2135727-129A5443000005DC-131_634x405-300x191.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.antiwar.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/article-2135727-129A5443000005DC-131_634x405.jpg 634w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-14784\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: DailyMail.co.uk<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Analysts who have studied photos of a half-dozen ominous new North Korean missiles showcased recently at a lavish military parade say they were fake, and not very convincing ones, casting further doubt on the country\u2019s claims of military prowess.<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;the weapons displayed April 15 appear to be a mishmash of liquid-fuel and solid-fuel components that could never fly together. Undulating casings on the missiles suggest the metal is too thin to withstand flight. Each missile was slightly different from the others, even though all were supposedly the same make. They don\u2019t even fit the launchers they were carried on. \u201c<strong>There is no doubt that these missiles were mock-ups<\/strong>,\u201d Markus Schiller and Robert Schmucker, of Germany\u2019s Schmucker Technologie, wrote in a paper posted recently on the website Armscontrolwonk.com that listed those discrepancies. \u201cIt remains unknown if they were designed this way to confuse foreign analysts, or if the designers simply did some sloppy work.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It turns out that, not only are they mock-ups, but they are mock-ups of weapons they aren&#8217;t working on for real.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Theodore Postol, a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and former scientific adviser to the US Chief of Naval Operations, said the Taepodong-2 design remains the more real future threat \u2014 though even that remains at least a decade away \u2014 and the KN-08 is simply a smoke screen. \u201c<strong>I believe that these missiles are not only mock-ups, but they are very unlikely to be actual mock-ups of any missiles in design.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Check out <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailytimes.com.pk\/default.asp?page=2012%5C04%5C27%5Cstory_27-4-2012_pg4_7\">the rest of the article<\/a>.
