I believe this is a security necessity,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>In the past three years, he noted, US taxpayers have contributed more to the Israeli defense budget than Israeli taxpayers.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Since 2009, that amount is <a href=\"http:\/\/foreignassistance.gov\/OU.aspx?OUID=164&amp;FY=2013&amp;AgencyID=0&amp;budTab=tab_Bud_Planned\">more than $11 billion<\/a>.
