{"id":1902,"date":"2005-03-07T13:39:48","date_gmt":"2005-03-07T20:39:48","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2005-03-07T13:39:48","modified_gmt":"2005-03-07T20:39:48","slug":"the-rightmsm-view-of-the-lebanon-question","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.antiwar.com\/blog\/2005\/03\/07\/the-rightmsm-view-of-the-lebanon-question\/","title":{"rendered":"The RIGHT\/MSM view of the Lebanon question"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/antiwar.com\/justin\/\">Justin Raimondo&#8217;s column<\/a> today inspired me to do this illustration of one of his points:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zaman.com\/?bl=international&#038;alt=&#038;trh=20050303&#038;hn=17099\">pictorial representations<\/a> of the &#8220;Cedar Revolution&#8221; that have so far appeared in the Western media have mostly been close-up shots of the comelier females waving flags and smiling coquettishly for the cameras, although <a href=\"http:\/\/story.news.yahoo.com\/news?tmpl=story&#038;u=\/050304\/481\/akcf10603042006\">this one shot of &#8220;pro-democracy&#8221; demonstrators<\/a> dancing &#8217;round a bonfire of what the caption describes as &#8220;pro-Syrian newspapers&#8221; has certain <a href=\"http:\/\/www.historyplace.com\/worldwar2\/holocaust\/h-bookburn.htm\">unfortunate historical connotations.<\/a> We will doubtless see the Hezbollah\/pro-Syria demonstrators depicted in an entirely different manner: no comely lasses and fearless lads here.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Oh, that liberal Western MSM Justin describes is so out of step:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ancapistan.typepad.com\/photos\/uncategorized\/instamonger1.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Instamonger1\" title=\"Instamonger1\" src=\"http:\/\/ancapistan.typepad.com\/unfairwitness\/images\/instamonger1.gif\" width=\"350\" height=\"306\" border=\"0\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Good thing we have the warbloggers to show us what the media won&#8217;t.  Notice the date that Instamonger began pointing out that Lebanese pro-democracy demonstrators are all cute little hotties and pro-Syrian demonstrators are all thuggy guys.  And the beat goes on!
