Simon writes<\/p>\n<p><i>&#8220;When you read reports like this, you <a href=\"http:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2005\/WORLD\/meast\/10\/17\/iraq.main\/\">gasp<\/a>, even though you know they may be exaggerated or even pure propaganda. But then when you read <a href=\"http:\/\/shrinkwrapped.blogs.com\/blog\/2005\/10\/ussein_will_not.html\">this<\/a>, your mind focuses again on the greater reality.&#8221;<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Yes, the fact that 2.5 years after Bush&#8217;s Mayday &#8220;Mission Accomplished&#8221; speech, Iraq is in such chaos that the USAF is <i>still<\/i> bombing from the air, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/article\/2005\/10\/17\/AR2005101700808_pf.html\">killing 39 civilians &#8211; including 18 children<\/a>, is shocking at first, until one realizes that it&#8217;s all for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.payvand.com\/news\/05\/jul\/1172.html\">greater<\/a> good &#8211; er &#8211; reality.<\/p>\n<p>We have to keep in mind that the unalienable right to life doesn&#8217;t exist for you if you live across water from here, and that yes, somehow, <a href=\"http:\/\/shrinkwrapped.blogs.com\/blog\/2005\/10\/ussein_will_not.html\">sinking to Saddam&#8217;s level makes it all worth while<\/a>. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In a post called &#8220;Collateral Damage,&#8221; Roger L.
