Citing a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rasmussenreports.com\/2005\/NSA.htm\">Rasmussen poll<\/a>, &#8220;NewsBusters&#8221; claims, &#8220;the nation doesn\u2019t feel the Bush administration is doing anything wrong.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Busters&#8221; is right, because that wasn&#8217;t the question.<\/p>\n<p>Media Matters has Pat Buchanan &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.antiwar.com\/pat\/?articleid=8341\"> typically right in writing<\/a> and wrong on TV &#8211; making the <a href=\"http:\/\/mediamatters.org\/items\/200601030004\">same ridiculous claim<\/a> on Hardball ,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\n&#8220;MSNBC political analyst Pat Buchanan, <em>Washington Post<\/em> columnist Charles Krauthammer, CNBC host Lawrence Kudlow, and conservative radio host Michael Reagan referenced the Rasmussen poll in defending Bush&#8217;s authorization of the NSA eavesdropping program. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rasmussenreports.com\/2005\/NSA.htm\">poll<\/a>, conducted December 26-27, asked respondents: &#8216;Should the National Security Agency be allowed to intercept telephone conversations between terrorism suspects in other countries and people living in the United States?&#8217; Sixty-four percent of respondents answered &#8216;Yes.'&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Wowee, well I guess I can ignore the fact that the NSA has been tapping <a href=\"http:\/\/news.independent.co.uk\/world\/americas\/article335055.ece\">virtually all<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/liveammo.blogspot.com\/2005\/12\/us-probes-eavesdropping-leak.html\">international calls<\/a> and that the law has been broken, since this stupid unrelated poll question was tailored in such a way as to make for a useful soundbite for the warmongering and liberty hating Krauthammers of the world.<\/p>\n<p>I give up. You conservatives are right.
