He doesn\u2019t take center stage on this web site very often, although without him it wouldn\u2019t exist. He\u2019s our webmaster, you see, and the founder of this site \u2013 and it\u2019s his birthday tomorrow (Dec. 24).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/antiwar.com\/donate\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-26323\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.antiwar.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/eric-young-sepia400-2.jpg\" alt=\"eric-young-sepia400-2\" width=\"250\" height=\"351\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-26323\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.antiwar.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/eric-young-sepia400-2-214x300.jpg 214w, https:\/\/www.antiwar.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/eric-young-sepia400-2.jpg 250w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>For twenty years, Eric has essentially subordinated his life to the demands of running Antiwar.com. He\u2019s not only the webmaster, he\u2019s the manager-par-excellence. Aside from dealing with the purely technical aspects of maintaining this web site, he raises the money, he manages an often-contentious staff, he reins me in when I go more than a bit overboard. (This last task, you might imagine, is close to being a full-time job).<\/p>\n<p>When I asked him what he wanted for his birthday, he told me: \u201cOh, nothing. But I wish we\u2019d raised a bit more during the <a href=\"http:\/\/antiwar.com\/donate\">fund drive<\/a>.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s so typical of Eric \u2013 it\u2019s always about the web site, never about himself.<\/p>\n<p>So what I decided to do was to make an appeal to <b><a href=\"http:\/\/antiwar.com\/donate\">please make a contribution to Antiwar.com in his name<\/a><\/b>. <\/p>\n<p>I can\u2019t think of any better way to honor an activist whose dedication is the fuel that keeps this web site going. We just couldn\u2019t continue without him.<\/p>\n<p>So please, join with me in celebrating the birthday of the largely unsung hero of the antiwar movement by making your <a href=\"http:\/\/antiwar.com\/donate\">tax-deductible donation to Antiwar.com<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>P.S.
