Bush is deeply disappointed that the Iraqi people have \u00e2\u20ac\u0153not shown greater support for the American mission.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>One person who attended a meeting of Bush\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s \u00e2\u20ac\u0153war cabinet\u00e2\u20ac\u009d on Monday commented on Bush\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s reaction: \u00e2\u20ac\u0153I sensed a frustration with the lack of progress on the bigger picture of Iraq generally \u00e2\u20ac\u201d that we continue to lose a lot of lives, it continues to sap our budget. The president wants the people in Iraq to get more on board to bring success.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>I recall those halcyon days of early 2001, when neoconservative whiz kid David Brooks gurgled about how wonderful it would be to have a president who had a Masters of Business Administration &#8211; and from Harvard, no less.\u00c2\u00a0 Bush\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s reaction to Iraq is vintage MBA: If only these people would get \u00e2\u20ac\u0153on board\u00e2\u20ac\u009d&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>One professor who attended (and who is getting money from the U.S. State Department) said that Bush expressed the view that \u00e2\u20ac\u0153the Shia-led government needs to clearly and publicly express the same appreciation for United States efforts and sacrifices as they do in private.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps Bush believes that America\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s problems in Iraq would be solved if there more Iraqi government officials were assassinated.<\/p>\n<p>Bush was apparently especially upset that a recent rally in support of Hezbollah in Baghdad drew 10,000 people.\u00c2\u00a0 One person at the meeting commented that Bush \u00e2\u20ac\u0153was frustrated about why 10,000 Shiites would go into the streets and demonstrate against the United States.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>Maybe Bush was confounded that Iraqis are too stupid to recognize that America\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s ally, Israel, was using U.S. bombs to kill Lebanese civilians solely in the cause of Bush\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s \u00e2\u20ac\u0153forward strategy of freedom.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>In unrelated news elsewhere in <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/select.nytimes.com\/mem\/tnt.html?emc=tnt&amp;tntget=2006\/08\/16\/world\/middleeast\/16iraq.html&amp;tntemail1=y\">today\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s NY Times<\/a><\/strong>, the civilian death toll in Iraq in July\u00c2\u00a0 set a record and experts fear that \u00e2\u20ac\u0153the country is already embroiled in a civil war.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>[Comments &amp; denunciations of this post are welcome at <a href=\"http:\/\/jimbovard.com\/blog\/2006\/08\/16\/bush-betrayed-by-iraqi-ingrates\/\">http:\/\/jimbovard.com\/blog\/2006\/08\/16\/bush-betrayed-by-iraqi-ingrates\/<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s New York Times reveals that George W.
