Moqtada!<\/a>&#8221; was not just because they were members of his <a href=\"http:\/\/news.scotsman.com\/international.cfm?id=26592007\">Mahdi Army<\/a>, but because they were <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sonic.net\/~kkrueger\/sitm\/archives\/bush_cheerleader.jpeg\">cheering<\/a> one of the hangmen \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Sadr himself.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier there had been claims that Sadr was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.arabtimesonline.com\/arabtimes\/kuwait\/Viewdet.asp?ID=9485&amp;cat=a\">in possession<\/a> of the noose. Now, Nir Rosen at the blog <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iraqslogger.com\/index.php\/post\/559\/Rumors_about_Saddams_Executioners\">IraqSlogger,<\/a> points to <a href=\"http:\/\/tinyurl.com\/yn5kgj\">Al-Jazeera<\/a> who has a source claiming the entire execution crew had been replaced by the Mahdi Army and <a href=\"http:\/\/tinyurl.com\/y75md4\">this<\/a> &#8220;pro-Ba&#8217;athist&#8221; site which claims one of the masked men is Sadr since his mustache &#8220;matches.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Turkish site <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zaman.com\/?bl=international&amp;trh=20070106&amp;alt=&amp;syf=butun\">Zaman.com<\/a> adds:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>It has been also alleged that Shiite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr was in the room during the execution, and even that a masked al-Sadr hanged the ousted leader. The Saudi daily <em>Al- Mokhtasar<\/em> claimed that one of the masked men who took Saddam to the room of execution was Moqtada al-Sadr.
