Don’t Do It, Mr. President<\/strong><\/p>\n
It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a bad idea.
\nThere\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s no need for it.
\nThere\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s great danger in doing it.
\nAmerica is against it, and Congress should be.
\nThe United Nations is against it.
\nThe Russians, the Chinese, the Indians, and the Pakistanis are against it.
\nThe whole world is against it.
\nOur allies are against it.
\nOur enemies are against it.
\nThe Arabs are against it.
\nThe Europeans are against it.
\nThe Muslims are against it.
\nWe don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t need to do this.
\nThe threat is overblown.
\nThe plan is an hysterical reaction to a problem that does not yet exist.
\nHysteria is never a good basis for foreign policy.
\nDon\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t we ever learn?
\nHave we already forgotten Iraq?
\nThe plan defies common sense.
\nIf it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s carried out, the Middle East, and possibly the world, will explode.
\nOil will soar to over $100 a barrel, and gasoline will be over $5 a gallon.
\nDespite what some think, it won\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t serve the interests of Israel.
\nBesides — it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s illegal.
\nIt\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s unconstitutional.
\nAnd you have no moral authority to do it.
\nWe don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t need it.
\nWe don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t want it.
\nSo, Mr. President, don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t do it.
\nDon\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t bomb Iran!
\nThe moral of the story, Mr. Speaker, is this: if you don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have a nuke, we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll threaten to attack you. If you do have a nuke, we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll leave you alone. In fact, we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll probably subsidize you. What makes us think Iran does not understand this?<\/p><\/blockquote>\nImagine every member of Congress who supposedly opposes war with Iran speaking this clearly and forcefully. Can you?<\/p>\n
