Ron Paul receives the ultimate recommendation: <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/hnn.us\/blogs\/entries\/36134.html\">David Horowitz&#8217;s condemnation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Some of my best friends are libertarians and the greatest intellectual influence on me was Hayek. However, in practical political matters, libertarians tend to live in alternate universe, without regard for the real world consequences of their actions.  Ron Paul \u00e2\u20ac\u201c the only Libertarian in Congress \u00e2\u20ac\u201c is a disgrace. He has waged a war against America\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s war on terror, in lockstep with the left, and against the state of Israel, the frontline democracy in this war.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Actually, Ron Paul is not a capital-L Libertarian, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/story\/0,2933,252847,00.html\">he&#8217;s a Republican<\/a>, but whatever. The real laugher in here is Horowitz&#8217;s assertion that Friedrich Hayek is his &#8220;greatest intellectual influence.&#8221; That&#8217;s rather like Al Sharpton citing Thomas Aquinas as his lodestar.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rep.
