Spencer<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reason.com\/news\/show\/119726.html\">Jim Antle<\/a> &#8212; all of whom might be broadly perceived as paleocons-with-libertarian-sympathies &#8212; have started a foreign policy blog, Exit Strategies, and it&#8217;s a great read: I especially liked\u00c2\u00a0two posts by Spencer:\u00c2\u00a0&#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/exit-strategies.blogspot.com\/2007\/09\/les-neocons.html\">Les Neocons<\/a>,&#8221; and\u00c2\u00a0his <a href=\"http:\/\/exit-strategies.blogspot.com\/2007\/09\/iraq-war-snakes-on-plane-of.html\">riff<\/a> on iraq and &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Snakes_on_a_Plane\">Snakes on a Plane<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/larison.org\/2007\/09\/27\/a-shame\/\">Daniel Larison<\/a>, one of my favorite bloggers,\u00c2\u00a0takes on William &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.takimag.com\/blogs\/article\/william_hawkins_loser\/\">You&#8217;re A Traitor<\/a>&#8221; Hawkins, and skewers him:<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;It is unfortunate that Mr. Hawkins has written <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.frontpagemag.com\/Articles\/Read.aspx?GUID=C8A0361A-4D12-455E-A076-7104DCA32C11\"><em>this<\/em><\/a><em>.\u00c2\u00a0 It is unfortunate because it is an attack on his former colleagues,\u00c2\u00a0but even more because\u00c2\u00a0it is an embarrassing spectacle.\u00c2\u00a0 Yes, Murray Rothbard opposed unjust wars and pernicious foreign policy, for which he was scurrilously attacked after death by Mr. Buckley.\u00c2\u00a0 If anyone would like to take Buckley\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s\u00c2\u00a0side in that disgraceful episode, he\u00c2\u00a0associates himself with\u00c2\u00a0very shabby behaviour unbecoming of a gentleman.\u00c2\u00a0 People at Antiwar.com also oppose unjust wars and pernicious foreign policy, for which they are routinely scurrilously attacked.\u00c2\u00a0 They\u00c2\u00a0all see interventionism as a principal source of\u00c2\u00a0the expansion of the state at home and the loss of liberty.\u00c2\u00a0 I find it hard to believe that anyone at the gathering\u00c2\u00a0would say that patriotism has become a dirty word, except perhaps by way of saying that warmongers have helped make it seem so by misusing the word and conflating it with\u00c2\u00a0things that have nothing to do with patriotism.&#8221;\u00c2\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>And of course I&#8217;m still blogging over at Taki&#8217;s Top Drawer: on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blogger.com\/profile\/15341680574312718400\">Lawrence Dennis<\/a>, and a most <a href=\"http:\/\/www.takimag.com\/blogs#668\">contentious<\/a> debate on the war. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.takimag.com\/blogs\/article\/a_time_to_spit\/\">See also<\/a> Taki chickening out when he could&#8217;ve put his karate skills to good use &#8230;\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dan McCarthy, Richard B.
