{"id":480,"date":"2004-02-10T22:29:00","date_gmt":"2004-02-11T05:29:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2004-02-10T22:29:00","modified_gmt":"2004-02-11T05:29:00","slug":"did-bush-misspeak-on-this-also","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.antiwar.com\/blog\/2004\/02\/10\/did-bush-misspeak-on-this-also\/","title":{"rendered":"Did Bush misspeak on this also?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In his famed 2002 <a href=\"http:\/\/news.theolympian.com\/specialsections\/stateofunion\/stateofunion.shtml\">State of the Union &#8216;Axis of Evil&#8217; speech, <\/a>President Bush stated:  <i>&#8220;Our discoveries in Afghanistan confirmed our worst fears, and show us the true scope of the task ahead&#8230;we have found diagrams of American nuclear power plants and public water facilities &#8212; detailed instructions for making chemical weapons &#8230; surveillance maps of American cities, and thorough descriptions of landmarks in America and throughout the world.&#8221; <\/i> <\/p>\n<p>However, according to a Boston Globe Story today:<\/p>\n<p><i>A top nuclear-safety official has said he wasn&#8217;t aware that any American nuclear power plant diagrams were found in Afghanistan, despite a terrorist threat cited by President Bush in his State of the Union address two years ago.
