I love getting The New York Times<\/em> daily summary of the news. It makes for great hilarity.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s today\u2019s example:<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong><\/picture>Lebanon Emerges as Weak Link in U.S.-Iran Deal to End War<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, once seen as a secondary front to the American-Israeli war on Iran, has become one of the main obstacles to ending it.<\/em><\/p>\n

It\u2019s not Lebanon that\u2019s the weak link here \u2013 it\u2019s Israel.<\/p>\n

Israel is the attacker. The aggressor. The country that wants to scupper the MOU between the USA and Iran. Everyone knows this \u2013 except the NYT, apparently.<\/p>\n

I like too how the NYT<\/em> describes it as the \u201cAmerican-Israeli war on Iran.\u201d At the very least, it should be Israeli-American war of aggression against Iran.<\/p>\n

And when was Lebanon a \u201csecondary front\u201d to the USA? America has no desire to seize land and water in southern Lebanon. That goal is entirely Israel\u2019s, as is its fight against Hezbollah, which is responding to Israeli aggression.<\/p>\n

The Iran War has been a huge loser (to put it in Trumpian terms) for the U.S., and only Israel seeks to prolong it. Again, who\u2019s the weak link in the U.S.-Iran deal to end the war?<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve been playing with Trumpian language to describe the Iran War and its outcome. As Trump might say, it\u2019s been a defeat for America the likes of which we\u2019ve never seen before. No other defeat comes close<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

I think Trump finally understands that. The question is, will \u201cweak link\u201d Israel let him withdraw or will the war become even more catastrophic?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
