After the\u00c2\u00a0Goldstone Gaza war crimes report\u00c2\u00a0was released<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0on September 15,\u00c2\u00a0Israel\u00c2\u00a0immediately asked for the U.S.’s help in “curbing the international fallout<\/a>.”\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0Its message was\u00c2\u00a0don’t let a bad precedent be set,\u00c2\u00a0you want to be able to\u00c2\u00a0pursue “the war on terror” without having to worry about\u00c2\u00a0being hauled before\u00c2\u00a0the International Criminal Court,\u00c2\u00a0don’t you?\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0

\nFour days earlier, on September 11,\u00c2\u00a0Riaz Hassan had released the results of a suicide bomber study<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0using the “most comprehensive compendium of such information in the world.”\u00c2\u00a0 The findings should be familiar to anyone who’s been paying attention, “It is politics more than religious fanaticism that has led terrorists to blow themselves up,”\u00c2\u00a0“People tend to have a strong aversion to what they perceive as injustice,” “Strategies for eliminating, or at least addressing, collective grievances in tangible and effective ways would have a significant and (in many cases) immediate impact on alleviating the conditions that nurture the subculture of suicide bombings.”\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0

\nThose we\u00c2\u00a0deem to be deadly terrorists we subject to summary execution via drone<\/a>, but the victims of our deadly terrorism or war crimes\u00c2\u00a0don’t have the capability to pull of summary executions like we do and their\u00c2\u00a0path to international justice is curbed.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0

\nFor the Palestinians, in 2004 the International Court of Justice spoke with upmost clarity<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0that Israel’s separation wall and settlements in the Occupied Territories are\u00c2\u00a0illegal, but to no effect.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0Now the Goldstone report is being thwarted,\u00c2\u00a0with Congress about to vote on a resolution so intellectually challenged that\u00c2\u00a0Goldstone has had to issue a point-by-point rebuttal<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0
