Following the meme of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lobelog.com\/iran-hawks-draw-lessons-from-dprk-despite-ongoing-uncertainty-on-korean-peninsula\/\">equating North Korea and Iran as similar foreign policy challenges<\/a>, Rosen argues the United States should not simply accept Iran or North Korea acquiring nuclear weapons but, instead, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153If North Korea and Iran want nuclear weapons, and China does nothing to stop them, we can reintroduce tactical nuclear weapons onto American aircraft carriers and attack submarines in the Pacific.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Acknowledging the importance of working with allied nations, Rosen characterizes his call for increased U.S. military readiness as \u00e2\u20ac\u0153an old-school response that doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t seek war, but that also doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t aspire to utopian goals.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.commentarymagazine.com\/blogs\/index.php\/rubin\/382696\">Commentary<\/a>: Jennifer Rubin is one of dozens of hawks to jump on the WikiLeaks document dump of U.S. diplomatic cables to draw exactly the conclusions she was looking for. Despite confirmation of linkage \u00e2\u20ac\u201d that the continuing Israeli-Palestinian conflict hurts U.S. interests in the Mid East \u00e2\u20ac\u201d at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lobelog.com\/petraeus-confirms-link-between-israel-palestine-and-u-s-security\/\">highest levels of the Pentagon<\/a>, Rubin is determined to take the Saudi King\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s word that the concept is \u00e2\u20ac\u0153nonsense.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00e2\u20ac\u0153In short, there is zero evidence that the Palestinian non-peace talks were essential to obtaining the assistance of the Arab states on Iran,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d she writes.
