The Washington Post<\/a><\/em>: Jennifer Rubin, in her first day on the job blogging on her new Right Turn blog, interviews former UN ambassador and current American Enterprise Institute<\/a> fellow John Bolton<\/a>. Bolton tells her that \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Arab states don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t want Iran to have nuclear weapons any more than Israel does, and they fear that Obama is going to deliver them into the hands\u00e2\u20ac\u009d of a nuclear-armed Iran.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d He considers Obama is \u00e2\u20ac\u0153in over his head on national security\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and that \u00e2\u20ac\u0153unlike every president since FDR, this president doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t think foreign policy is a top priority.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n

The Wall Street Journal<\/a><\/em>: Former deputy national security adviser and Project for the New American Century<\/a> signatory Elliot Abrams<\/a> writes that the double-speak of non-democratic Arab leaders, who \u00e2\u20ac\u0153[t]ell the truth to foreigners but not to your own population[s],\u00e2\u20ac\u009d is being put to a test by the WikiLeaks releases. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153We find the king of Bahrain telling American officials privately that the Iranian nuclear program \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcmust be stopped,\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 while in public he carefully avoids any comment that might anger Iran\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s aggressive leaders,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d he writes. Abrams writes that it is easy to criticize the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153gap\u00e2\u20ac\u009d between the public and private discourse of the United States\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 non-democratic Arab allies, but \u00e2\u20ac\u0153when we consider the identities of some of the people they fear\u00e2\u20ac\u201dthe ayatollahs in Tehran, terrorists in Hamas and Hezbollah, al Qaeda itself\u00e2\u20ac\u201dwe see that the WikiLeaks disclosures are less likely to promote more open government than to give aid and comfort to the enemy.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n

The New Republic<\/a><\/em>: Reuel Marc Gerecht<\/a>, a senior fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies<\/a>, writes that the WikiLeaks document dump should prove that those \u00e2\u20ac\u0153\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6who have suggested\u00e2\u20ac\u201dor asserted boldly\u00e2\u20ac\u201dthat Arab leaders don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t want the United States to stop militarily Iran\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s nuclear program have been (i) fibbing, (ii) hopelessly ill-informed, or (iii) so ideologically purblind that they now appear intellectually dishonest.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Gerecht concludes by quipping, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153They at least owe Mr. Assange a \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcthank you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 for helping them see, as the Quran says, \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcthe straight path.\u00e2\u20ac\u2122\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
