The Wall Street Journal<\/a><\/em>: Ronen Bergman, a military analyst for the Israeli daily Yedioth Ahronoth<\/em>, opines that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has barely been able to contain his satisfaction over WikiLeaks cables showing Arab leaders so afraid of Iran that \u00e2\u20ac\u0153they even appear to be doing their best to persuade the United States to attack Iran\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s nuclear installations.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Bergman acknowledge that Arab leaders are not prepared to join forces with Israel against Iran because \u00e2\u20ac\u0153the Palestinian problem has not been solved,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d but comes up short of fully endorsing a \u00e2\u20ac\u0153linkage<\/a>\u00e2\u20ac\u009d argument. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Unless the concerned states of the Middle East drastically change the way they collaborate (with the U.S. acting as mediator), the campaign to stop Iran from getting the bomb will be lost,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d he concludes.<\/p>\n

The Washington Post<\/a><\/em>: Jennifer Rubin, the neoconservative Post <\/em>blogger<\/a>, writes that it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s \u00e2\u20ac\u0153time to reset Iran policy.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Rubin says the current dual-track policy of pressure and engagement is failing on both fronts and dismisses the need to build international consensus on any matter related to Iran. She suggests robust support for the Green Movement, to \u00e2\u20ac\u009dcontinue and enhance espionage and sabotage of the Iranian nuclear program\u00e2\u20ac\u009d (including assassinations of Iranian nuclear scientists \u00e2\u20ac\u201d the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153ultimate targeted sanction\u00e2\u20ac\u009d), making \u00e2\u20ac\u0153human rights a central theme in our bilateral and multilateral diplomacy,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and \u00e2\u20ac\u0153begin[ning] to make the case and agree on a feasible plan for the use of force.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d She contends that an attack on Iran will not allow the current regime to consolidate power. In conclusion, Rubin writes: \u00e2\u20ac\u0153The goal should be to do what we can to accelerate the regime\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s collapse while we work to retard or force surrender of its nuclear program.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n

The Washington Post<\/a><\/em>: Jennifer Rubin, writing on the Post<\/em>\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Right Turn<\/a> blog, interviews Sen. Joe Lieberman<\/a> (I-CT). Lieberman tells her that statements from EU and Russian officials indicating support for limited Iranian enrichment\u00e2\u20ac\u009d\u00e2\u20ac\u02dcis the wrong message\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 to send to a regime that has \u00e2\u20ac\u2122such a pattern of deceit.\u00e2\u20ac\u2122\u00e2\u20ac\u009d He argues that should Iran get a nuclear weapon, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153the consequences are so disastrous for us and our allies\u00e2\u20ac\u009d that \u00e2\u20ac\u0153it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s time to get tough.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
