She interviews <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rightweb.irc-online.org\/profile\/Foreign_Policy_Initiative\">Foreign Policy Initiative<\/a>\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Jamie Fly, who remarks: \u00e2\u20ac\u0153I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m skeptical that they will be the \u00e2\u20ac\u02dccrippling\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 sanctions we were promised but have yet to see.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Rubin also speaks to an \u00e2\u20ac\u0153advisor to a key senator\u00e2\u20ac\u009d who says, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153My point is just that they are very well-positioned to pursue a very hawkish policy towards Iran now.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Rubin then espouses her own Iran policy: \u00e2\u20ac\u0153The real issue is whether the administration will, if needed, employ force to disarm the revolutionary Islamic state.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d She is doubtful, but hopes that the next U.S. president will attack Iran.<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.weeklystandard.com\/blogs\/american-military-task_523657.html\">Weekly Standard<\/a><\/em>: John Noonan writes that proliferation of military systems in rogue states, particularly missile defense, have left the U.S. incapable of doing things like making bombing runs on Iran. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Take <a href=\"http:\/\/www.csbaonline.org\/4Publications\/PubLibrary\/R.20100914.Sustaining_America\/R.20100914.Sustaining_America.pdf\">this report<\/a> from the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments, which claims that Iran has managed to get its hands on advanced integrated air defense systems that can deny Iranian airspace to all but a few U.S. fighters and bombers,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d writes Noonan. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153CSBA argues that Iran\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s acquisition of new air defense systems limits our strike planning options to stealth B-2 bombers, of which the Pentagon can deploy approximately 16.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d CSBA is a group with ties to many neoconservatives and their allies. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rightweb.irc-online.org\/profile\/Woolsey_James\">James Woolsey<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rightweb.irc-online.org\/profile\/Cross_Devon_Gaffney\">Devon Gaffney Cross<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rightweb.irc-online.org\/articles\/display\/Pushing_the_Surge\">Jack Keane<\/a> all sit on the board of directors, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rightweb.irc-online.org\/profile\/Edelman_Eric\">Eric Edelman<\/a> is among the fellows at the Center. Noonan concludes his piece: \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Sound strategic planning postures the force in such a way that <em>any <\/em>scenario could be effectively parried.
