Today
is the 71st anniversary of the nuclear destruction of
Nagasaki: Saturday was the anniversary of the Hiroshima horror We
must make sure it doesn't happen again because it could happen
again.
That's because
we still haven't learned our lesson. Indeed the conventional wisdom
is that these twin war crimes were "necessary" to end
World War II even though Gen. Dwight Eisenhower testified
to the contrary.
The US has enough
nuclear weapons to end all life on earth. Yet still we refuse to
make a "No first strike" pledge. And our arms race with
nuclear-armed Russia is escalating.
