Does Rudy Giuliani Endorse Ethnic Cleansing?

The apppointment of Daniel Pipes, whose particular brand of political extremism is documented here, as a top advisor to the Giuliani campaign is about par for the course for Rudy, whose over-the-top pronouncements fit right in with Pipes’ hate-all-Arabs shtick. But how far is Rudy willing to take it — as far as Pipes? The reason I ask: Pipes is on the “presidium“ of something called “the Jerusalem Summit,” which has a “solution” to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict: “A generous relocation and resettlement package to allow them to build a new life for themselves and their families in countries preferably, but not necessarily exclusively, with similar religious and socio-cultural conditions.” In short: the wholesale deportation of the Palestinians.

It’s fair to ask: Is this Giuliani’s Middle East “peace plan”? And if not, why has he appointed a nut-bag like Pipes to a top position on his foreign policy staff?

Hah! And you can bet Uncle Sucker and the Amerikan taxpayer will get stuck paying for it.

  2. Too bad Netanyahu was born in Israel, for the neocons could cut out the middle man and run him for president instead, and be done with it.

  3. Guiliani knows that he was elected due to the crossover vote of the fearful/racist white liberals on the Liberal Party line, with the voters on the Republican line, because they wanted him to upseat Dinkins for mayor of NYC, and reign in what they perceived as unruly Blacks on “their” streets. Guiliani did unleash excessive police force on Blacks, and is famous about his doing a form of ethnic cleansing while in office. I bet he and Pipes get along famously.

  4. Many people forget that Pipes insisted that the airliner that crashed just after takeoff in New York City shortly after 9/11 was the victim of a terrorist attack. Never mind that the meticulous National Transportation Safety Board–the gold standard for crash investigations–found that it was overstressing that made the tail come off by itself. Pipes stared into his tea leaves and pronounced it ISLAMO-FASCIST TERRORISM! Yeah, listen to this guy, Rudy, he’ll have you foaming from the mouth in no time.

  5. No need for Netanyahu to run for president of the U.S. when the neo-cons have Rudy. The Mayor certainly didn’t distance himself from his “homeland security advisor”, NY Rep King, when King said there were “too many mosques” in the U.S. Rudy laughed it off and the media story died.

The guy is even scarier than Bush.

    1. This is truly the reductio ad absurdem of American neoconservative lunacy. If the general election comes down to Rudy Versus Hillary, will Hillary try to top this? “Well, Rudy simnply doesn’t love Israel QUITE ENOUGH. For myself, I think the Palestinians are too dangerous to be merely relocated. In fact, all Arabs should all be implanted with microchips so we can track them by satellite wherever they go. No wait – we should extend this system to all persons who are not regular donors to AIPAC….”

  6. Pipes is a weird dude. He wrote a very intersting book called “the hidden hand”. It’s not adam smith’s “hidden hand” but about conspiracy theories, mainly in the middle east. He analyzes how they work in minute detail. I actually emailed him once about Laurie Mylroie, the infamous neo con who had saddam behind everything from the first wtc attack to ohlahoma city. he explained that she had been a good analyst but had been “bitten by the conspiracy bug”. which is why i was so surprised when i went to his website and found things that were not altogether different from the stuff he parodies in that book. I htink he came to realize the political power conspiracy theories and that sort of stuff had and kind of embraced it for his own purposes.

  7. Seems like the whole world is so concerned about the plight of the Palestinians. Many of those same Palestinians Muslims danced in the streets after the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center collapsed in a towering inferno. There were clips of their wicked celebrations shown on CNN right after 9/11 and I wish they would repeat that. Sure, they have suffered and should have been treated better but that is no excuse for the terrible violence they engage in.

The Palestinians have engaged in all manner of violence and yet everyone worries about them, well let me ask you, what about the Tibeten people? The Dali Lama was just given a big award by President Bush, but how come you guys don’t commend Bush for that? What about the oppressed people of Tibet? The Chinese are working every day on ethnic cleansing of them. Don’t they deserve at least as much of the world’s attention as the Palestinians? The Palestinians are violent but the people of Tibet are some of the most peaceful people you will ever meet. No matter how oppressed they are they never resort to violence. Yet everyone on this blog is so much more concerned about the Palestinians who danced in the Streets on 9/11

    1. I’d be very grateful if you could provide a ranked list of which ethnicities we’re supposed to spend the most time opposing the cleansing of.

I’d be even more grateful if you can explain to me how President Bush pinning a medal on the Dalai Lama did anything meaningful for the plight of the people of Tibet.

      1. For the President of the United States, surrounded by numerous members of both houses of Congress to present this award was profoundly meaningful. If it was not meaingful, I’m sure the Dali Lama would not have shown up. It outraged the Chinese government and brought the plight of the Tibeten people to greater public awareness. Even if you hate Bush, can’t you at least accept that he did a good thing?

Also, I’m not providing a list of ethnicities that you are supposed to care about but it is just rather curious that some people are so outraged about the Palestinians but we don’t hear as much outrage about what the Chinese are doing to the people of Tibet. Maybe if the Tibetens would blow up innocent people like the Palestinians they would get more attention. But the people of Tibet will not do that because they are peaceful and not prone to violence like the Arab Muslims.

        1. The only tangible effect the Dalai Lama’s award seems to have had for the average Tibetan is that it provoked yet another crackdown by the Chinese government. Not that they generally need much of an excuse for that…

Anyhow, I’d love to see more Tibet stuff on the site too… the sad fact is there’s precious little English-language news coming out of there.
