The cartoon that is Jonah Goldberg’s reality gets even weirder. As Arthur Silber points out, Jonah’s flight of fantasy doesn’t even work as a joke, as it might if, say, Teddy Roosevelt were the subject, because caricatures are supposed to play on attributes the subject actually possesses. Also, note that Jonah switches from putative joke to straightforward GOP rhetoric in the second paragraph. Stephen Colbert has these guys down.
