Just a couple of weeks ago, we were constantly told about Ukraine’s strength and how successfully it, alongside with Europe, is repelling Russian aggression. However, a few days ago, the carefully constructed wall of lies began to crack. The encirclement of Pokrovsk by the Russian army put almost everyone on edge, as information about critical problems within the Armed Forced of Ukraine immediately flooded the internet.
The lack of manpower, low morale, the inability to hold a key chokepoint in Donbas, the threat of complete encirclement and liquidation of forces in the city, as well as a complete absence of strategy — all of this immediately came to light, while just a couple of weeks ago we were listening to Zelensky’s speeches about Kyiv not making any concessions . As it turns out, Russia doesn’t need any concessions; it takes everything on its own, slowly but surely.
Against this backdrop, questions about whether this war is worth fighting and what’s really happening on the front lines are once again becoming relevant. Year after year, we’re promised that Russia will inevitably lose, and then, we suddenly learn that Ukraine is once again on the brink of defeat.
Every time, they try to hide information from us until the very last moment. Mariupol, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, now Pokrovsk. The scenario is always the same. At first, we are told that the city is an impregnable fortress. Then we read about its heroic defense, and soon after, we learn that, in fact, it wasn’t important at all. “Yes, we lost the city, so what, the main thing is that Russia is about to suffer defeat!”
Unfortunately, no one wants us to know the whole truth, and only at times like now can we glimpse behind the curtain and realize that Ukraine is just a bargaining chip in the hands of hawks who are ready to continue burning our money and the lives of Ukrainians just to prolong this conflict with Russia as long as possible.
It’s time to stop blindly believing Zelensky’s exhortations and Europe’s statements, and listening to the calls of the warmongering Lindsey Graham and his allies. They are all far from the front and the horrors that ordinary people have to endure, while the media paints us a fictitious reality. The conflict was long overdue for an end, but a host of bloodthirsty hyenas, including politicians and diplomats from Kyiv and Europe, have repeatedly prevented it. Perhaps now, when the proponents of war are unsettled by yet another crisis and have no other way to back up their lies, the time has come to seriously discuss peace? Or we could simply leave everything as it is and wait for Russia to achieve its goals in Ukraine. Most likely, it won’t take long.
