Blinken Fiddles in Kiev as Ukrainian Troops Burned in Kharkov

On today’s Ron Paul Liberty Report:

Secretary of State Antony Blinken dragged C-Span cameras along to a pub in Kiev where he jumped onstage to play Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World” with the house band, seemingly oblivious to the rapid advance of Russian forces in the north. Meanwhile, Blinken green-lights Ukraine to strike deep within Russia despite Russian warnings of retaliation at the source – whether in Ukraine or elsewhere. What could go wrong? Also today: Blinken’s “holding up” weapons for Israel exposed as cynical political farce. Finally: Hero Massie drops pro raw milk bill.

In the winter of 2021, the newly minted Secretary of State Antony Blinken declared that the Biden administration was setting about to establish a “foreign policy for the middle class.” This, of course, had echoes of Trump messaging that Washington’s overseas adventures and expansive military footprint was no longer putting “America first.” Borrowing more New Deal language, the Biden team appeared to be signaling that it too wanted to put American needs and interests back at the center of its policies governing war and peace.

Speaker Johnson Declares War on Thomas Massie?

On today’s Ron Paul Liberty Report:

Was a massive $300,000 AIPAC ad purchase against Republican Rep. Thomas Massie in Kentucky green-lighted by Republican Speaker of the House Mike Johnson? Is the Republican Party at war with itself and willing to slur its own members on spurious charges of bigotry? Also today, US Army Major, of Jewish background, resigns over Biden’s Gaza policy. Finally, a Republican Rep from Florida drops bill to impeach Biden… for “withholding weapons” from Israel?

War of the Words

When Barack Obama took over as president in 2009, the global war on terror, or GWOT, just didn’t seem to fit the tenor of his “hope” and “change” message. So wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were rebranded as “overseas contingency operations.” Talk about the banality of evil! Even Orwell’s Big Brother might be impressed by OCOs as a substitute for invasion and war.

A euphemistic word Obama didn’t banish was “surge.” The “surge” in Iraq allegedly had worked under General David Petraeus, even though its gains proved as “fragile” and “reversible” as Petraeus hinted they would be. So Obama conducted his own surge in Afghanistan, the so-called good or smart war after the Bush/Cheney disaster in Iraq. And of course the “gains” in Afghanistan also proved both fragile and reversible, though no one was held to account for the miserable failure of the Afghan War. Whoops. I mean the Afghan contingency operation for democracy and enduring freedom.

The Imperial Lamb: America, Israel, and Ritual Substitution

“And for you, here are these ritual substitutes…And may they die, but I will not die.”- Keilschrifturkunden aus Boghazköi XXIV 5 I 15-16

The relationship between the United States Imperial Government (USIG) and the state of Israel is what the kids call “wtf!?”

The dean of the Realist School of foreign policy, John Mearsheimer, put it this way:

“We have a special relationship with Israel that bears no resemblance to any relationship between any two countries in the history of the world.”
